I am talking about the newest song by the latest X factor monkey, I don't know his name.

At 3pm on the school run the LAST thing I want to hear is vulgar lyrics about cumming and sex.

I hate it.

Just as we'd finally stopped hearing that awful 'blurred lines' song.

Turn the radio off then. Play a CD or your MP3 player.

UsedToBeNDP · 07/11/2013 20:19

Fwiw, I agree, stuff like that is grim do I don't play the radio or the misogynist tv music channels.

UsedToBeNDP · 07/11/2013 20:19

so not do

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:21

I do turn it off. I still don't think it's appropriate music to be played on local radio.

'Just turn it off' ignores the wider issues I think.

I don't think it's necessarily misogynist, just vulgar.

Blurred lines was misogynist, definitely.

Which song is it?

RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 07/11/2013 20:23

What song?

UsedToBeNDP · 07/11/2013 20:23

My misogynist comment was more to do with the rotten videos shown on MTV et al (semi naked women writhing over fully dressed seamonster men).

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:26

I don't know what the song is called.

'Your nobody if somebody loves you' something like that

It goes on to discuss sex in graphic detail and i just find it rude and vulgar.

I hate the videos too but I find them easier to avoid. At least on the radio Miley Cyrus is just some random pop person.

RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 07/11/2013 20:27

That song as been out ages now. Its shit, never listened to lyrics apart from the name.

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:28

My local radio are a bit behind the times. They have just got hold of it. I prefer 2 or 4 but the kids complain about 'all the talking'

OP posts:
RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 07/11/2013 20:29

I've googled and the lyrics aren't even bad Imo. There's a lot worse out there

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:30

Really? Maybe I lead a sheltered life as far as pop music goes. I think they are disgraceful.

OP posts:
RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 07/11/2013 20:31

What bit in particular? I really don't see the issue with it.

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:35

Fill up my cup don't ever stop cumming

Get up ontop I'll make you pop honey.

It's just awful nasty shite to be listening on my radio. Mind you, that's probably how people felt about Marvin Gaye, back in the day.

OP posts:
MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavour · 07/11/2013 20:37

I think the lyrics are pretty tame really, and I'm sure I read it as coming not 'cumming' when I saw them online

I did object to blurred lines though

Chuckthefucklebrothers · 07/11/2013 20:40

Not as bad as that stupid Bruno Mars song - "you & me baby making love like gorillas"

Ffs.

IamInvisible · 07/11/2013 20:41

The lyrical are

"Fill my cup, don't ever stop coming"

HTH!

Geckos48 · 07/11/2013 20:41

What else would it mean?

Making love like gorillas?? Could be bad but could be liberating I suppose!

I was so enraged this morning when I heard a song on on Capital Radio. It was by Bruno Mars called 'Gorilla', the lyrics were about her legs in the sky and her fists beating on his chest in some sort of passionate way but it made me feel sick being the mother of two. To hear this during the day is just so wrong!!!!! I don't want my 12 year old to become desensitised to these words and attitudes to relationships with men.

LamaDrama · 07/11/2013 20:44

Erm well I heard this today on Radio 1 & was a bit Hmm
I loved Bruno Mars, but this has put me off him now -

Sounds cleaner than Chain reaction by Diana Ross.

Songs about sex have always existed, not much has changed

Why do these men think it is appropriate or attractive to be singing this stuff?

Is it 'compensation' for not being able to straddle massive bollocks and give sledgehammers blowjobs for attention?

OP posts:
Drgonzosattorney · 07/11/2013 20:49

Exactly Lama. He looked such a nice boy too. I'm too depressed to look at Ross' s lyrics now. Is she a filthy mare too?

RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 07/11/2013 20:53

Songs about sex are common. Some more obvious than others.

I used to listen to Liquid Dreams,Barbie Girl, 2 become 1, I wanna get freaky with you etc
