To wonder how many boundary disputes St Jude is going to cause

What with all the fences being blown over, my friends can't be the only people whose neighbours are asking them to contribute to the costs of the repairs because they refuse to accept the boundary is their responsibility?!

Surely its best just to leave insurance to cover it :-)

It probably depends on their policy, whether they are insured and if they are the cost of their excess

Insurance doesn't usually cover garden fences though as standard.

Well worth reading before starting any disagreements or spending money, and well worth asking about any queries, it will save you a lot of stress and money.

This is where renting has its up sides... I wish I could say that more often though Grin

My poor elderly grandparents now have their fence damaged by a neighbours tree. If insurance doesn't cover it what on earth do they do?

(I mean poor as in Sad ).

Pay for the repairs themselves.
Ask neighbour for a contribution.
Not get it repaired.
Tie up a bit if sting to mark the boundary.

Lots of options.

I'll tell my immobile 80 grandma to just tie it up, thanks. Maybe I'll get my 82 year old grandad to just move the tree too. Clearly they need help.

There shouldn't be a boundary dispute as when you buy a house it says on the deeds which fence is yours, surely? I know which fence I own.
