AIBU?

To think that a clothes swap is a swap and I shouldn't be charged?

Some mums at school are organising a clothes swap but they want us to pay a pound for each item we swap (its not for charity).

AIBU to think this is just wrong and that a swap should be just that. Also it shouldn't be advertised as a swap as I have to pay a pound and they get something of mine.

What do you think?

Is the money raised going to the school or the PTA?

Or are the organising mums keeping it themselves? Paying for a venue or refreshments at the swap?

Ask loudly at the school gates 'so which charity is the money going to?'

Unless we know what the money is for we cannot possibly judge

Well you don't have to go if you don't want to pay a pound, do you? But it could be worth paying a pound for - and why should they organise it for nothing?

Not PTA, I'm assuming it goes to the organisers.
I wouldn't mind if it were for charity or PTA.
Leviticus is right

I ran a book swap once. The idea was people come with a book, swap for another and give a contribution to Macmillan. In reality people came with a pile of books, gave a contribution and left all of them at my house so I had to take them to the charity shop!

Leviticus is right about what? Confused

I wouldnt pay £1 per item to go to organisers but i would if raising money for charity, pta or paying for hall fee or something.

But i think you should really find out rather than assume.
