AIBU?

To cancel tomorrow?

We are meant to be at my brothers babys christening tomorrow and our baby was sick tonight during her dinner, I'm wondering whether she is ill or just threw up a bit of food, maybe choked a bit or something. There is a bug going around but she doesn't have a temperature and straight after throwing up she drank a lot and had a yogurt, a banana and some rice cakes, she then went on to leap about the house like normal, normal all through bath and off to bed with no more action. I was in the kitchen when she threw up so didn't see if she choked a bit or what happened but I don't think she threw up her whole dinner. Sorry I know this is long winded but I don't really want to cancel going for a burp! WWYD? Do you think she is sick? She's 18 months btw.

I'd take her temperature, keep an eye on her and if she showed any sign of being ill, stay at home. I wouldn't make a decision now that is based on what could have been nothing more than a bite of food going the wrong way and causing her to gag and be sick.

If it was a vomity bug you'd know about it. See how she is through the night. But it sounds like a bit of a gag thing.

Whenever mine had a bug they would projectile vomit - it was like a scene from the Exorcist.

Did she throw up a little bit of her dinner? All of it? Sick once or several times?
If what she has had to eat since stays put and so does breakfast and not got an exploding bum or temp or rash then I would put it down to an icky burp and go.

probably. Grin just keep an eye out, but it's probably just that a mouthful got caught. That happens quite a bit. Did to mine anyway, particularly if they were shovelling it in Grin

Oh I have to decide tonight, we have to pick up other people and if we're not going we need to make other arrangements for them. It's been 3 hours since she was sick and fast asleep no temp, do we go?

She brought up a mouthful of food. All is ok. If she's ill in the night then cancel.

Vomity bugs normally kill your appetite stone dead.

I'm sure if she had one, she couldn't have eaten a yogurt, a banana and some rice cakes straight after being sick.

No temperature, not seeming off it, one mouthful of food spat up, eating normally after that, not seeming in pain, no diarrhoea, sleeping normally, I would still plan to go, yes.

go if she is sick again, one of you go and pick up the others and leave baby at home with the other one.

Absolutely go, if it was a bug you'd totally know about it by now. But even if it was, I'd say go and leave your DC at home with your DH.

You would know about it if she was ill, enjoy the Christening.

Sounds like a bit of food going the wrong way because she ate more afterwards and wasn't sick. Keep an eye on her but I think you will be ok going to the christening tomorrow.

I only class my kids as sick if they have a temp and need Calpol to get through the day.
You don't want to go do you?
