I think that Paul McCartney is a nice bloke and I really like him.

(I honestly think this. I wish he wouldn't dye his hair that awful Autumn Russet shade and I wish he'd stop doing Hey Jude all over the gaff, but he's a nice man)

thebody Thu 03-Oct-13 14:35:12

can't say really as don't know him. do you?

CocacolaMum Thu 03-Oct-13 14:36:01

Never met the bloke and since I thought Rolf Harris was a nice bloke I am probably not the best to ask!?

Mintyy Thu 03-Oct-13 14:36:43

Oh. my. God!

Have you heard his latest single?

It makes me quite literally want to scream. Or vomit on the floor. Or cut my own ears off in despair.

Madamecastafiore Thu 03-Oct-13 14:37:23

I think he is a complete twat.

Hate old people trying to look young when they just look utterly wanky,

Don't think the Beatles were that great either.

Clawdy Thu 03-Oct-13 14:38:10

I don't like him - I love him,and have done for years! But not a good thing to say that on here...I daren't read the rest of the thread....

BlatantRedhead Thu 03-Oct-13 14:39:32

The Beatles were great. Paul McCartney is a nobber

Clawdy Thu 03-Oct-13 14:39:34

And last time I said that people on here kept calling me

reelingintheyears Thu 03-Oct-13 14:40:04

I think you'll be perving over Cliff next.

Lj8893 Thu 03-Oct-13 14:40:09

Can't comment on him as a bloke.

But I saw him live at glastonbury several years ago and he blew me away, he was absolutely amazing!

I'm 25 and at the time didn't really have an opinion of the Beatles but watching him live inspired my love for the Beatles! I've since been to Liverpool and done all the Beatles tourist stuff haha!

You need a serious dose of Music that makes sense. The unsung hero, the UN peace keeper That is inspired.

Note the "and buttocks like he was 18" line He is seriously working it on the motorbike.

Pancakeflipper Thu 03-Oct-13 14:42:40

I liked him but think he's trying too hard now in an embarrassing grandad kinda way.

And I don't like it when he dyes his hair.
And I don't like his latest music but I am probably not his target audience.

shirley122 Thu 03-Oct-13 14:43:00

Love the beatles have done for years saw him in cardiff very good but think he should retire with grace now think his voice has gone where as tom jones glenn tilbrooks voices still amazing

LazyGaga Thu 03-Oct-13 14:43:56

Is this going to spew forth an outpouring of affection for previous MN hate figures?

Will there be a Peter Andre appreciation thread next?

FWIW I love The Beatles and don't mind Macca in the slightest.

QuintessentialShadows Thu 03-Oct-13 14:48:05

Guys, instead of pointing out who you hate, spread the love!

Find something new to LURVE. Like what I gave you below....

Beastofburden Thu 03-Oct-13 14:52:00

I just wish he could still sing. Time to retire, Macca.

But yes, I think he has lived a good life and I do like his music.

MarmaladeTwatkins Thu 03-Oct-13 14:53:08

"can't say really as don't know him. do you?"

Yes I do know him. I am Heather Mills.

KhunZhoop Thu 03-Oct-13 14:53:25

He's mothafuckin' MAROON! YABU.

HaroldLloyd Thu 03-Oct-13 14:56:46

I think I agree. He's alright.

He's also got nice crinkly eyes.

There are far worse about.

FriskyHenderson Thu 03-Oct-13 14:58:29

He's alright as long as he keeps his hands in his pockets, his mouth shut and his hat on.

HoneyDragon Thu 03-Oct-13 14:58:29

*You are being a complete Bastard

LazyGaga Thu 03-Oct-13 14:59:24

grin if you were Heather Mills posting about PM the bile would be oozing out of the screen.

MinesAPintOfTea Thu 03-Oct-13 15:00:50

He has been past it for as long as I've been concious of music and Lennon died well before I was born

Plus when I went to Hard Rock Calling it ended up being McCartney-fest after a day of good music.

And I was hoping for a LDC update when I saw who had started this thread

ivykaty44 Thu 03-Oct-13 15:01:11

he reminds me of a chuggy pig - is this a thread about a thread?

friday16 Thu 03-Oct-13 15:01:28

First "people who say he's an arse haven't got a leg to stand on" joke in 3...2...1...
