AIBU?

To not want nor agree with fucking douching or moisturising MY OWN Vag.

I can't go anywhere nor watch TV without being reminded that I 'Should' be doing one of/both and I'm getting slightly pissed off with this severely outdated information.
Dr's recommend it here Shock Half of pharmacies are taken up with feminine products such as Provag gel - moisturiser for your vagina (WTAF?) and floraVag - to purify your vagina Hmm I'm getting leaflets in the mailbox and even got given one on a visit to the cinema ffs!
Final straw today was in the pharmacy - the assistant asked if I'd like to buy some on promotion so I told her I didn't use it and didn't want to cause myself thrush and she looked at me like I'd just told her I ate newborn babies Confused
If my translation of language would have allowed I'd have also informed her that my own Gynaecologist and GP both advise against using anything other than gentle soap on the outside - so thank you very much but my vag is capable of cleaning itself, is clean and hygenic, doesn't smell and I manage perfectly well without FloraVag.

I assume the vag moisturiser is for those who are dry of vag and need a little help? like menopausal women?

Ive not heard of any of those products though, are you in the UK?

Is it an area of astounding natural vag stench?

FloraVag sounds like something you would spread on your toast.

Ive always thought that Apples would be a good scent for a fanjo.

My MIL has Femfresh deodorant on display in the bathroom.

All completely unnecessary products, a marketing ploy and yet another stick to beat women with.

YANBU.

I can't ever remember seeing it advertised or promoted anywhere. I don't even think I've ever seen any in anyone's bathroom. I thought hardly anybody used them, they're not exactly hard sold.

I've noticed there seem to be more of these types of product around and more advertising for them. Somewhat like the sudden attack of heavy promotion of all sorts of air- and room- fresheners which infested the airwaves a few years ago, as though all the major manufacturers had got together to try and tell us it was normal to squirt nasty goo all around the house rather than wash things properly and open the windows.

Always have lost my previously loyal custom as a result of insisting on drenching their towels in something that smells like cheap loo cleaner.

You don't need to use FemFresh to prevent thrush. Who told you that?

I have a theory. All these new scented San pro cause itchy irritated fannys. Same company makes flowery fanjo wash for irritated fannys. First make a fanny sore, then offer solution to sore fanny, only to make a fanny sore again etc etc and so it goes on.

heart - why does your vag need washing with anything other than water?

I'm 47 and I've never used any sort of soap or squirted deodorant on it, or had any complaints.

I use nothing but plain water down there.

After 6 months of eczema on the fanjo, and it itchy and stinging everytime i peed.

I kinda respect my fanjo now.

from that list (fucking, moisturising and douching), I don't do moisturising and douching.

Skoda: mild soap on the "higher up" hair and just water further down. No waxing or shaving of any type.

It's best to use just water surely. I have used femfresh during my period in the past but not anymore (not that it ever caused problems, I've never had thrush)

I've heard you aren't supposed to use talc there either due to the risk of particles going places.

I have stopped using Always too. Madness. Scented FFS.
