To be pissed off about DH ruining my new vans...

Got these:
www.google.co.uk/search?q=vans+slim+yellow&client=safari&hl=en-gb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=bqpEUuKQK6ny7AbN14HoAQ&ved=0CDEQsAQ&biw=320&bih=505&dpr=2#biv=i%7C10%3Bd%7CUriOH_-7QmZgeM%3A
And I love them. Wore them once, kept them immaculate. Husband wore them out (despite me asking him not to). Went to a nightclub and now they are filthy, covered in black stains and booze despite best efforts to clean them. Grrrrrrr! Am I being unreasonable to kill him for destroying my new face shoes?

My husband has smaller feet than me it's not uncommon. IMO his punishment should be to replace the shoes and buy you a second pair in another colour!

They are very nice. I'd be demanding a replacement if I was you!

Your husband wears lemon shoes on a night out?

Leave the bastard.

My husband and I have same size feet too. Both size 6 (he has tiny feet!)

My aunt and uncle have the same sized feet too.

He should buy you new ones, he was asked not to wear them and did it anyway.

Yellow shoes are going to get dirty, unless you never wear them outside.

He does owe you a new pair though. Perhaps get pink next time?

My husband, me and ds1 all have the same sized feet. I have been eyeing up ds1's green vans (especially since he's no longer allowed to wear them to school).
So LTB. Definitely.

I have big feet! (7/8). I like the replace them and get me an extra pair in another colour idea! And annoyingly, he can pull off lemon yellow shoes. They look slightly less camp than my coral pink ones that he tried to nick...

Put them through the washing machine. It might rescue them. And give husband a bollocking - what a dick ruining your shoes.

Report
SaucyJack · 26/09/2013 23:10

He wore those?! I'd be less concerned for his masculinity if you'd caught him wearing your knickers to be frank.

Report
Mawgatron · 26/09/2013 23:14

They have gone through the machine, still stained and the rubber is starting to separate from the canvas now :(

They really are expensive for what they are aren't they? (Ds1's were in a sale). I think I might wear them tomorrow

Your DH should replace them.

Re sizes, my DH is only half a shoe size bigger than me, it's not all that uncommon!

StuntGirl · 26/09/2013 23:30

I'm gobsmacked he

a) borrowed despite being told no
b) wrecked them and
c) hasn't already gone out and replaced them for you.

Is he normally so unthinking?

I would be more worried that he has been hanging around gay bars tbh!

My DH and I have the same size feet. His habitual wearing of my slippers nearly led to divorce. I feel your pain, he should buy you some new ones.

Colours are colours. There is no inherent sexuality attached to them. Men should be able to wear yellow or pink shoes without being accused of being gay ffs.

Snargaluff · 27/09/2013 07:16

So he wore yellow shoes and must therefore be gay? That's a new one.

snoogy Hmm
If that's your idea of a 'joke' then it's not a very good one. What a simple minded comment to make.
