The thing with bondage is that it is very easy to get it horribly wrong and do someone an injury. Tying people up can so easily cut off the circulation, and then there's rope burns/abrasions/grazing etc, and then there's being able to get them free again, either bit by bit safely, or in an emergency very quickly (without hurting them with the knife or scissors) and so on.
It sounds daft when you've never really given it much thought, but it's like anything else - it really needs to be done properly, with safety considerations paramount and precautions in place in case of emergency.

I hope it's immediately after one of those old lady tea dances, and Margot and Roy sheepishly stay behind clutching a suspicious looking bag while all the other oldies leave with a Hmm face in their direction.

If people are interested in this, it's better they are actually taught how to play safely.

Good idea. People need to learn how to do it safely. I always wear a hi-viz jacket with all my usual PVC, and put cones around anybody being whipped.

Bondage fear? Do they think that people are going to finish the workshop and run round the village randomly tying people up and spanking them?

That roof looks like it's got some decent joists holding it up, would have been perfect for rigging some pulleys to demonstrate how to suspend someone safely.
