to not know about greying lady bits?! (and I don't mean the lady garden!)

Ok so I have discovered this product on amazon today which is a labia dye (!) to cover up a greying labia as this seemingly happens as we women get older. Why have I never heard of this?? (Not the dye, the greying labia!). Is this true??

Granted I did read about it in the Daily Fail however the product, called "My New Pink Button" hmm, is true and is selling on Amazon US in 4 different colours - "Ginger", "Marilyn", "Bettie" and "Audrey"...!

The product description is: My New Pink Button (tm) is a temporary dye to restore the youthful pink color back to your labia. There is no other product like it. This patent pending formula was designed by a female certified Paramedical Esthetician after she discovered her own genital color loss. While looking online for a solution she discovered thousands of other women asking the same questions regarding their color loss. After countless searches revealing no solution available and a discussion with her own gynecologist she decided to create her own. Now there is a solution!

Surely IANBU to have never heard of a greying labia and someone please tell me it's an urban myth!

Great- another thing porn is telling me to worry about.

Life's too short to worry about what colour your fanny lips are.

I have been a carer for many years of the elderly, and can honestly say, if it is true i haven't noticed!
And trust me i have seen 100's of womens lady bits.
I don't know if that it down to the fact i really don't notice after seeing so many, but i imagine at that point in life you really don't give a damn anyways grin

DH's eyesight is getting worse with age anyway, so I don't think it matters what colour mine end up ....

If I'm going to go to the trouble of dying my labia I at least want something interesting, like zebra print.

roath Mon 16-Sep-13 14:58:15

I have never ever heard of the possibility of my bits going grey so it was a bit of a shock to me when I read it so wanted to know if this was common knowledge and I had somehow missed this over the years! Like one of those things that isn't talked about!

I wondered how long it would take someone to mention this is my first post. It's not, I'm a paranoid serial namechanger due to knowing people using MN and not wanting to out myself when I inadvertently include to many personal details.

roath Mon 16-Sep-13 14:59:07

Oooo I like the zebra print idea mind...

"certified Paramedical Esthetician" my greying arse. Certified what, exactly?

I bet that "discussion with her gynacologist" was short and consisted of "It's totally normal. Now get out of my office."

elcranko Mon 16-Sep-13 15:49:27

I've heard it all now! I can't imagine why anyone would give enough of a shit to buy this product!

mignonette Mon 16-Sep-13 15:52:04

No such thing as a Paramedical Aesthetician. Maybe she is an embalmer......

Sounds like one of those numpty qualifications bought online.

Have just googled it. Seemingly is someone who works alongside doctors, dermatologists etc to peripatetic the skin for surgery and look after the skin post op during recovery.

I liked the bit about the patent is pending. Sounds like a dragon's den. I wonder what Duncan Bannatyne would make of someone pitching this idea grin

roath Mon 16-Sep-13 16:40:33

Peripatetic? Actually meant prepare...

I'm a nurse and can't say I have ever noticed greying fanny lips!! Its a bit like the bumhole bleach though isn't...fecking stupid!

BraveLilBear Mon 16-Sep-13 16:50:17

Ahem. I know someone with grey lady bits. Not totally grey, mind, if we stick with the animal variety one might describe it as akin to a tabby ahem cat.

The person in question made this discovery during pregnancy, aged young 30s.

My friend says she will not be dying her pussy.

juniper9 Mon 16-Sep-13 17:25:47

So we're meant to bleach our bots and dye our fanjos? Fantastic.

NotSpartacus Mon 16-Sep-13 17:28:23

Love the Amazon reviews for that product. grin

roath Mon 16-Sep-13 17:38:58

I wonder if anyone will now be checking the colour of their bits after reading this thread grin

Haven't read the reviews. Will need to check that out!

Beastofburden Mon 16-Sep-13 17:39:31

do we think anyone will be stupid enough to buy this stuff?

roath Mon 16-Sep-13 17:41:05

Just read them. Hahahahaha!

LividofLondon Mon 16-Sep-13 17:43:00

I've had a grey fanny after an incident involving blueberries, does that count? grin

juniper9 Mon 16-Sep-13 17:43:22

roath I wish I could see my bits to know what colour they are!

digerd Mon 16-Sep-13 17:46:31

Do you mean the inner sides of the lips? I can't see mine as eyesight failing and too stiff to bend over near enough to seegrin. I don't care anyway. Care more about the ever increasing stiffness in joints and muscles - sigh.

juniper9 Mon 16-Sep-13 17:49:20

I'm 38 weeks pregnant. Can't see anything, including my toes although discovered yesterday, using a mirror, that I'm full of stretch marks under bump. Argh!

MisselthwaiteManor Mon 16-Sep-13 18:17:46

Livid you can't say that and not tell the whole story
