But gravity means the thick waistband will take forever to dry.

This is going entirely over my head....

Thick waistbands sometimes benefit from being blown in the breeze more than being stuck to the line, and some tops will turn bell-shaped if they're hung from the bottom hem when wet.

No, no, no, tops from the bottom and bottoms from the top!!

You need educating, not her!!

Tops from bottom, bottoms from top.

It's the best method in terms of maximizing space on washing line and minimum peg use if you're like me and can never be arsed to buy more. Fact.

I think the neighbour is hanging bottoms from the bottoms isn't he, and tops from the top?

Report
PeazlyPops · 05/09/2013 21:55

That's the correct way to hang them!

Did the pegs even match on each garment?

Did she have different items on each arm of the whirligig?

We're socks pegged in pairs or individually.

We need more information before we can properly judge

DP does bottoms from the knees Shock. No matter how many times I explain that I'll have to iron them now, he still does it every-bloody-time.

Oh my, yy, it is your duty to educate her - in the interest of peaceful family dynamics you must explain to her the Error Of Her Ways

What does 'NDN' mean btw??

Chaos when my DH hangs washing out, instead of neatly folding a kingsize duvet and hanging it on the outer line (ie the longest) of the whirlygig lines, he pegs it haphazardly across two sides.

And
And
he uses.............................non matching pegs Shock

And he thinks I should thank him for manhandling my washing Hmm

I should LTB shouldn't I.

Non-matchy pegs, Norks.

How can she/he sleep?

If you wear it on the bottom, hang it from the top.
If you wear it on the top, hang it from the bottom.

What do I do with dresses???

My ex best friend was always going on about this. I'd had enough one day when she dared to criticise my line. She didn't expect the "WHAT DOES IT FUCKING MATTER AS LONG AS THEY DRY?" reply from me. Grin

No I can use the twisty handle and crank the height up .
But seriously, what if the Google Earth plane flew over my house to do photos,?
WTF would they think?

My old NDN was constantly going on about how much ironing she had to do. I glanced over her fence one day to see washing that looked like it had been thrown at the line; I mean pegged up in the middle of the bum on a pair of jeans, by the left boob of a top etc Shock

Report
MrsOakenshield · 05/09/2013 22:18

entirely off-topic, but have you got a new phone, Chaos?

Depends entirely on the garment. Better than DH's useless way of hanging out washing which is to hang everything twisted and at full stretch.

I sometimes peg my DS boxer trunks up by the crotch.
"Hey DS"
"whaaaaaaaat"
"Look" snap.
