I went into one of my local charity shops not really expecting anything. Anyway, there sitting looking at me are a pair of pink, high-top converse in my size, looking hardly worn (I think they are actually new) for £7.99. I have been coveting a pair of pink converse for ages and looked on ebay and new pairs are going for £40+. Am so happy, feels serendipitous.

What are your amazing charity shop finds?

Good work!

This weekend my DP found a brand spanking new pair of Russell & Bromley shoes for £30. They're still on sale, in store, for £225.

I didn't find anything...

Pair of strappy wedge sandals. Never been worn. I have thin ankles but have the strap on my left foot on the biggest hole, so I guess that's why their previous owner had donated them.

£2.50, worn all summer.

Oh, and a Joules top, looks like new £2.75.

Some thing are meant to wait in the Charity shop until you go to get them.

A boxed 1970's toy priced at £11. More than I'd normally pay but bought it anyway. Kept it and enjoyed it for a while then eventually decided to eBay it. £800 later I discovered it was a very rare little thing indeed and very few were made. We were struggling at the time so it made a huge difference to us.

I also bought a vase once, in the shape of a womans head. I paid a whole £1 for it and it was a great bit of Kitcsch, I love it. DH hated it with a passion, lived with it for a month and I bowed to his hatred and eBayed it. It made just over £100.

I still scour charity shops now, but never found anything anywhere near as good as those again.

I love hearing about good charity shop finds. They make me Smile because everyone is winning. the original owner gets rid of something they no longer want/need, the charity shop receives much needed funds and they put a grin on the buyers face for the day. (Or in CharlieHunnams case a whole year! £800 wow, that's amazing!)

I've just found the last coloured scarf I need to start making my patchwork cushion covers. Pink, turquoise, mustard yellow, purple and bright green. They are going to be epic.

Funny you should say that, I don't usually go as far the charity shop area, but today found 4 pairs of brand new, boxed ugly as hell lelli kelli shoes. Selling them. Also 2x still packed mamas and papas baby sleeping bags and a big box of mixed lego in the same shop :)

Wow - great finds! We only have a very expensive Oxfam near us that sells designer stuff!

We did have a lovely dress shop near us that sold samples (I was very skinny then). I bought a dress (labelled, so kosher) for a wedding for £30 and saw it a few weeks later for sale in a posh department store (so current season) for £225.

Once found a pair of black leather shoes worth £50 in charity shop for £3. Still in box, looked like they'd never been worn & perfect fit for DS. Best school shoes he's ever had.

2nd Edition hardback set of books written by Churchill, all immaculate in their original dustcovers for £10. Thousands of copies printed (bestseller of it's day) but I love owning them even though I haven't gotten around to reading them, his style of writing is verbose

Ds got about 15 doctor who figures for £3 at a car boot and a toy car garage for 50p which was massive and immaculate. Ds is always jammy though, he looked at a box of action men at the car boot but had spent all his money and the man came running after him with them for free, there were about 15 in immaculate condition with accessories. I saw one of the hats on eBay for about £10 and was going to list it but the bloody dog ate it. Am not ebaying any of the rest as will pass on the good karma once dd and ds finished with them.

Monsoon silk dress, fits like a glove and really elegant - £8.50, retail £150 - looks unworn.
Immaculate Save the Queen tops x 4 at £3.50 each! Kept two and Ebayed two to raise over £100.
Many good label jackets for work over the last couple of years, all for about a fiver. Brands like Planet and LK Bennett.
Can you tell, I love charity shop shopping? Grin

Calvin Klein jeans for DD $8 (never worn) and a whole unopened Potato Head family that she had coveted for eons and I wasn't buying because they were more than $30 for $7.

I live in Canada in case anyone thinks I'm scouring the whole world for bargains.

I started a new job a couple of months back and some days it involves long walks with clients. I needed a pair of decent trainers or walking boots that weren't too heavy. I have both but they're not suitable for work.
I went in my local charity shop and saw a pair of Sketchers, new, for £3! My size too Grin They're fab and have saved me more blisters.
