I'll be brief! I bought a top in Zara just over three weeks ago costing ?26. Wore it for the first time about a week ago and washed it as per instructions, now its got loose threads, is pretty shapeless and has gone greyish (it was black) I brought it back to the shop last Saturday spoke to the Manager who said it was meant to look that way and if she had any in stock she'd have shown me, as we spoke she removed some of the dangling threads. I replied I clearly wouldn't have bought it if that was the case. She refused to refund me and gave me an email address in England to contact (I'm in Ireland). Since then I've emailed several times with no response and can't find a postal address or anything. Anyone any ideas?

I had the same thing happen with a top from NEXT but they took it back no problem. When the manager told me what was wrong with the top in my hands before I even opened my mouth suggested they had more than one or two returned.......I'd go back again and complain.

Hi, have you tried this phone number 44-20-78514300 rather than just emailing? From Zara website

www.zara.com/uk/en/contact-us-c11113.html

Zara customer service is the worst. I posted last week about a really rude manager in Zara Home... It has really out me off shopping there now.

Try tweeting them. That normally gets a response.

Well from most companies anyway.

Check out Consumer Direct on the web, they are a free consumer advisory service and bloody brilliant at this type of thing. Consumer Direct

Essentially under the Sales of Goods Act 1979 Zara have to provide you with goods that are fit for purpose. Obviously your top is not so. Therefore they have to make this right for you, with either a repair, an exchange or a refund.

Consumer Direct will talk you through your rights and the process of complaining. They have templates for official complaints letters and everything. I can't recommend them highly enough. I ring them every time I have a consumer query and they have assisted me in a helpful and sympathetic manner.

Give them a call, you won't regret it... But Zara might!

Ok am barely hanging on to me temper now. Got an email from Zara telling me to bring my top back to the store as the store will deal with returns. I have never tweeted but am on twitter and will give it a go.
thanks nutcrackerfairy am in ROI so Consumer Direct may not be able to help me. Sale of Goods Act applies here too though!
Thanks cailinsalach, tippin' away now, tippin' away.

I've met the Royal Zara' she is quite unpleasant.

Her husband was very nice and thoughtful though.
