AIBU?

To have a word with this mum?

On the school run last week one of my DDs classmates ran out in front of my car in the carpark, everything was fine but I told his au pair what had happened as she wasn't looking (unstrapping other two) she didn't really say anything but I don't know if she had a word with him later. As well as the 5 year old she also looks after a nearly 3 year old and a 1 year old and seems absolutely lovely but I'm getting concerned about them around the roads. There is a slim pavement running alongside a busy main road and this morning the 3 year old was running down it alone whilst she had a chat with a friend at the top of the road, a group of mums in front of me and started calling out 'who is this child with etc etc' as he wasn't in grabbing distance of them and she did respond and call him to stop. I don't want to get her in trouble as she does seem really good with the kids otherwise but I think I'd want to know if they were mine

I would- it isn't about trying to get the au pair into trouble, but just making sure the children are safe. However good she is with the children otherwise, road safety is a fairly serious area for her to be lacking in.

I would definitely want to know if it was my children.

I told a parent who's nanny was ignoring the oldest being battered. Every week the wee boy sought me to help him at the soft play while she ignored as she was chatting to all her friends.

He approached me one weekend with mum and she asked how i knew her son, so I told her. She was mortified. She never told the girl who had told her but the girl was not allowed to sit with her friends and had to play with both children. She kept moaning about it as she passed her friends but she was ignoring him.

I'd want to know if I was the mum, tell her. You'd never forgive yourself if one of the children got hit by a car.
