Ok it all started a few years ago when I had my colours done, was told I was an Autumn, after hiding in black for years and although I was initially v unhappy with the diagnosis, I eventually accepted it and over time changed my clothes and ditched the black.

I now have a fantastic wardrobe of beautiful colours that really suit my colouring and all match. I often get compliments on what I'm wearing and I know it's just cos I'm wearing the right colours for me.

However, it's meant that I have become a bit of a colour fascist! I have 2 friends with similar colouring to me, pale, freckles, blue/ green eyes and reddish tints in their hair and for ages I have been trying to get them to ditch their black and wear warmer colours to the extent that they call me the fashion police and worry about what they are wearing when they are with me ( in a tongue in cheek way, obviously...)

Also when I see women wearing colours that really don't suit them, I have an overwhelming desire to go up to them and tell them ( obviously I don't, as I don't want a mouthful of abuse and its none of my business..)

But it bugs me! Yesterday I saw a woman with dark hair wearing a black and white jacket, a lime green jumper and cerise lipstick. It was just all wrong!! I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does....What to do??

Get a hobby? Stop being so arrogant? Accept that the people who invented the "colours" thing are clever marketers who have made a fortune out of the gullible?

Start by accepting that it is wrong to impose your ideas of tasteful on the world at large.

With a bit of time, the rush of energy that goes with an enthusiastic conversion will fade. You don't really need to do anything.

Wear dark glasses and stop concerning yourself with what other people wear?

I'd seriously think you were batty if you approached me and told me I should be wearing summer tones (friend did mine years ago for a laugh).

Why don't you get a job as a "colours" consultant. That way you can satisfy your urges and get paid for it, safe in the knowledge that the women who come to you will want you to comment on their clothes.

How do you know what colour you are?

Whats blonde, blue eyes and pale skin mark me as?

(Love red, genuinely wouldnt mind mixing it up though)

Go up to the people and tell them that they're wearing the wrong clothes. Do it right in their faces, quite loudly, with lots of hand gestures. Please. Go on.

Some of us don't need our colours done because we look amazing in every colour.

Really though?

You actually care and shit about people wearing certain colours?

You are not Autumn. Autumn is a season

I often wear a bit of puce.

Sling on a combat green scarf and I'm good to go.

What happens if you dye your hair? Or get a tan? Then your colours all change and you have to go get new clothes. confused
