To hate football and the amount of TV coverage it gets...

Just switched on to ITV and guess what - some European cup final with two German teams!! I really dislike football and wonder whether anyone really gives a shit cares about a game like this in the UK?
Why does football coverage get preference over everything else?

You are perfectly entitled to hate whatever you want.

However, if you don't have Sky Sports, then there's relatively little football on the TV during normal waking hours, unlike the kind of stuff I can't stand - Pop Idol / I'm a Celebrity / Big Brother / TOWIE / Made in Chelsea / X-Factor / Dancing on Ice / etc.,etc.etc.
To watch football other than when there's a World Cup, you have to stay up very late on a Saturday night.

I expect people feel the same about reality tv, or the news. You don't have to watch it, or like it, but that does not mean it doesn't deserve the airtime.

Pretty much everything that is on tv deserves the airtime, as channels wouldn't fund it if no one was watching.

It's 1 night - Bloody Tennis takes up 2 channels all day for 2 bloody weeks every summer !

There's been a European game on ITV mid-week nearly every week (sometimes twice weekly) for the past few weeks. What I object to is that any programme that's normally on during that time has to be cancelled or rescheduled - just gives the impression that football is far more important than anything else.
