to think if youve got no home for 5 days, then your homeless?

Ok so maybe only homeless for 5days, but still homeless?

Friend A posted on facebook that she is homeless for 5 days. I don't know the reasons for this, but assume one tenancy has ended before the next one begins.

Friend B says she's not homeless as she has a home, just not yet.

But surely she is temporarily homeless?

Why the hell is friend B making stupid comments instead of offering help?

'Friend' B sounds like a prize twat.

There is a difference between homeless and roofless I feel.

Why does it matter to you? Either put the girl up or butt out.

Or she's between homes?

Sounds a trivial thing to be arguing about though.

Does it matter? Friend B needs to get an actual problem to worry about instead.

Legally, she is not homeless, as she does have somewhere to go in the future.

If she is seeking help from the council, she may well find that they just point her towards B&Bs, because they are overfull and they have no real requirement to house her unless she has made her children homeless too.

That's the other thing: if she's arranged for one tenancy to end before the other starts, she may well be judged to have made herself homeless, and the legal advice would be to over-stay for five days in the old property. Provided she is not already under a Section 21 etc, the landlord could not evict her legally during that time.

Were not arguing about it, just discussing it. I'd offer to help, but live about 100 miles away.
And of course its trivial, as are many things on here!

i have stayed with friends or family loads of time when buyimg or renting new places, and have never considered myself as homeless.

sounds like a throwaway comment on facebook though, rather than something that needs issue taken with it.
