At 5.30am my kitten woke me up in her usual manner, purring, kissing and cuddling up at my pillow. Still half asleep with eyes closed I puckered up and returned the favour. Only then did I feel the upright tail tickling my nose so I opened my eyes to be greeted by a fluffy bum and an amused looking cat. Yes, I had only gone and kissed her arse. She looked quite offended when I pulled away!

Yup! Just think of what's sitting, festering, under your lipstick all day, and on whatever cup you drank out of, and on the back of your hand that wiped your lips and...(feeling paranoid yet? Grin)

It won't kill you, probably, but bleurgh.

I did wash my lips with facial wash in the shower, just not gone as far as getting the disinfectant out yet! Oh well, at least the cat seemed to enjoy it. I'll open my eyes before I kiss her next time.

Urgh, I'd dip my face in bleach.

When we were kids my sister tried to push our big fat cat off the kitchen worktop and her finger went right up it's bum.

Shock im still sniggering over the finger incident, and Op, "Kiss my arse" is what your cat said, and you actually did it.

Well if it makes you feel any better OP, your kitten will use her tongue to clean the part of her anatomy that you kindly helped her out with this morning. So face or bum, you're going to be getting a mouthful of the same thing!

Thanks midnite, that makes me feel much better! It's not put me off kissing her but I think I'll open my eyes next time!

Every cat in the world, every time they look you in the eyes, is thinking 'Human, kiss my arse!'

This will go down in the annals of cat history - or should that be anals.

We used to have a dachshund who, every time we were making a phone call, constantly bothered us for tummy rubs, lying on his back and whining. One way to get him to calm down was, instead of tickling, just hold onto one of his legs. I think he just liked the human contact! Anyway, my mum was on the phone and, without looking, grabbed hold of a leg...except it wasn't his leg, it was his willy! Dog looked bemused and rather pleased with the situ, I had to stifle my hysteria and my mother had a fit when, 5 mins later, she realised she had a handful of dog tackle. Grin

If that's the kitten's usual way of waking you up, how do you know you haven't been kissing her arse every day?

nippysweetie82 · 20/05/2013 16:34

MrsSlocombes I usually open my eyes before kissing her! The week we got her I woke up one morning to find her diahorrea covered bum hovering above my face. At least it was a clean bum this time!

The germs have had time to spread and multiply trillian-fold, so you need to plunge your entire head into a large saucepan containing fast boiling water comtaining a dash of bleach. Keep at a rolling boil for 3 minutes and then turn down to a simmer for precisely 42 mins 27 seconds. Then immerse your head in iced water for 10 mins for a quick and refreshing cool down and you'll be fine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Grunt, I took your advice. I think I killed all the germs but my lips are a bit blistered and my skin's peeling off. I must be allergic to the bleach.

Oh Dear. I'm so sorry to hear that. What frightfully rotten luck you're having. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm just done a bit of Googling (just in case you should you one day get another VERY RUDE awakening from your kitten) and apparently people who are allergic to bleach can omit it and simply increase the simmering time to 54 mins 12 secs. The good thing about that method is that by omitting the bleach you can save the water for use as stock!

Which is nice.

I wouldn't worry about it, most people expect pet owners to be coated in filth.

nippysweetie82 · 20/05/2013 18:58

Thanks for going to the trouble of googling that for me Grunt. I might need to kiss her bum in the morning just to try that method. I was going to make soup tomorrow anyway so that would save me having to buy stock cubes.
Do you think that kissing cats bums might have affected my brain?
