AIBU?

to start a relationship...

a couple of months after my marriage breaking down?

ExP ended it... about 5 weeks afterwards someone asked me out for a drink. I agreed, just to actually get out of the house and do something pleasant for a change. It's gone surprisingly well since then (been about 4 weeks since that initial drink) and we're tentatively entering a relationship, but taking things slow (we've both been hurt before, so been no 'I love you's' or anything other than enthusiastic snogging yet).

However, ExP appears to disapprove. I don't think she's jealous as she ended the relationship and wasn't happy with me anyway. I know it's kinda quick but I wasn't looking around for someone new, it's just been a happy surprise. And I tried not mentioning it to ExP as I thought she'd rather not know, but then she just asked me anyway.

So... hit me with it, should I not be doing this? Or am I caring too much about what my Ex thinks about my choices still?

Unless you are harbouring any hopes of reconciling with your ex....YANBU.

You seem to be taking thimgs slowly amd not going in head over heels and proclaiming them the love of your life etc.

Go into it with an open mind, it may be rebound fling or it might be more meaningful...but good luck!

Thanks ComposHat

I don't really want to get back with Ex and doubt she'd want me back either. Once you're out of the relationship for a bit I've realised what it is that made us wrong or one-another.

But yeah, we're taking things slowly and just hoping for the best. I'm just worried about awkward pick-ups/drop-offs for DD if ExP has it in for me a bit...

Nothing whatever to do with your ex is it.

It's your dds feelings you need to manage here.

Thanks for the replies. She has nothing to do with DD. I wouldn't bring anyone into her life unless it was serious enough for us to live together i think as obviously, they'd have to be involved then.

I'll just stop worrying about what my Ex thinks then. It's not like I told her to rub it in her face or anything, she just asked!
