just offered dp chocolate out of a large bag and got rather huffily told i dont eat anythiny anyone else has had their hand in. bearing in mind its only me and the dcs who have reached in. then went on to rant about he doesnt even get biscuits out of the tin because other peoples hands have been in there. is he an oddball or do lots of people do this

DollyClothespeg Sat 18-May-13 14:08:44

He's an oddball. grin I wouldn't care though as it'd mean more chocolate for me! grin

CloudsAndTrees Sat 18-May-13 14:09:40

I'd find it odd, but people can be as odd as they like when it comes to what they put in their own mouths. It's nothing to do with anyone else.

He's a freak. What sort of chocolate?

BarredfromhavingStella Sat 18-May-13 14:10:00

Your DH is being ridiculous-I share bags of chocolate/sweets with the woman sat at the side of me at work never mind DC & DH!!

glad its not just me thinking that. he will quite happily eat a takeaway made by a stranger but not get a sweet out of the bag his dcs have been putting hands in.

Fairylea Sat 18-May-13 14:10:59

That's madness. Assuming you kiss and "the other" (!) ?? Lots more germs being transferred there!!

FunnysInLaJardin Sat 18-May-13 14:11:33

BackforGood Sat 18-May-13 14:12:41

He's odd - but what a bonus - all the more for you smile

Punkatheart Sat 18-May-13 14:12:43

What is the 'other' Fairylea? It has been so long.

squoosh Sat 18-May-13 14:13:16

I think it's a bit odd.

Does he know how many paws will have manhandled his food before it's brought to him in a restaurant.

Some people are just very germphobic.

likesnowflakesinanocean Sat 18-May-13 14:13:20

chucks around mishapes loads going spare smile

Remotecontrolduck Sat 18-May-13 14:13:55

He is weird, that's your family! He sounds like a bit of a germ-a-phobe!

likesnowflakesinanocean Sat 18-May-13 14:15:12

thats what i always say, you dont know whos making your curry or pizza or whats happened to it. he has some odd ways and for someone who moans about germs hes an untidy gitgrin

Jinty64 Sat 18-May-13 14:18:14

Ds2 (15) is like this and we think he is veerrrry odd!

likesnowflakesinanocean Sat 18-May-13 14:19:43

it drives me mad, strange fella

miffybun73 Sat 18-May-13 14:27:06

Definitely weird grin

likesnowflakesinanocean Sat 18-May-13 14:29:51

they are so nice too he really is missing outgrin i think its the suprise element that does it. hell i might even dunk them in my tea grin

Naoko Sat 18-May-13 14:33:45

Definitely weird. Presumably he's been known to touch you or you wouldn't have DC grin so I'm not sure what good he's going to do by not sharing biscuits...

likesnowflakesinanocean Sat 18-May-13 14:40:13

grin . its not like the dc are filthy either they are actually quite clean

IcingTheCake Sat 18-May-13 14:41:23

Yabvu! Never share chocolate wink

He is quite strange though, my OH's brother is a bit like this but only if he isn't sure who's touched it... Your DP clearly has never seen a takeaway's kitchen grin

phantomnamechanger Sat 18-May-13 14:51:56

that's very odd, especially in the close relationships or parent and child - my kids and I share biscuits we have been biting FGS! and drink from the same cup - does he have a thing about obsessive handwashing? - will he hold the DC hands or yours? shake hands with strangers? what about door handles in public places etc? or buffets - how does he cope there ?

do you think he has OCD?
