to be slightly addicted to AIBU?

I am a (happily) childless (gay) man.

I left a message on Mumsnet because I wanted some advice on books for my god daughter. While on, I had a quick peek at AIBU and have been addicted ever since. I always have a 20 minute browse before going to sleep.

My DCP (darling civil partner -I'm trying to start a new term) thinks that:

a. It is weird that I find it so interesting.
b. I am not welcome as I am not a mum nor female

It came to a head last night when I was crying with laughter in bed over the hamwidge thread. It was impossible to explain.

AIBU and, indeed, am I welcome?

You have to put [[ at the start of the link and ]] at the end, to make it a clicky link smile

McNewPants2013 Tue 14-May-13 21:12:48

it gets easier with practise smile

Tiredmumno1 Tue 14-May-13 21:13:16

We should ask MNHQ to add DCP to the acronym list

You are the second GM to out himself as a MN fan on here in about a week.

I like DCP

HotCrossPun Tue 14-May-13 21:17:12

YANBU and you are very welcome grin

I second a call to MNHQ to get DCP added to the list!

Dear book, a. Not weird at all to find it interesting and b. you are so welcome because you are you and I know that myself and thousand others would love to hear your opinions and views. You sound fab! Wish I could see some of the very intelligent, interesting mnetters that frequent this forum. Tee hee. Mind you, I am becoming a bit too engrossed these days and may have to seek help. X

smile @ Jamie

And of course you are welcome book, this is where the absolute best folk hang out.

Don't just look at AIBU, mix it up a little and explore.

Hello, I am addicted too tbh. I have had some real humdingers on theads! Am a working mum and a bit right wing so sometimes some try and chase me off threads so they can just end up agreeing with each!

The big threads are SAHM v Working Mums, private v state. People living on benefits wondering whether to have another child...Those are the ones that really kick off.

And remember that when someone starts to swear at you and call you names - you are getting somewhere and they dont have an answer apart from calling you a cxxt!!!!

Welcome welcome and love your dcp term.

Beware it is addictive.

CalamityKate Wed 15-May-13 17:31:32

AIBU is soooooo addictive.

Tell your dcp to get on here himself. Then he'll know what the fuss is about.

You are ours now and there's no going back! We may as well get you both. <Mwaaa haaaa haaaa>
