Aibu to think the leaves are really late on the the trees this year?
(12 Posts)I know it's been a cold shit spring with a few odd days of pleasant weather but it's now mid may and only about half the trees have their leaves!
I've known cold springs before but most of the trees have a good covering by the start of may round here,
Anyone else noticed this?
Yes. We have silver birch trees at the bottom of our garden and by now they are usually thick with leaves. Right now they are only starting to come into leaf. It has been very cold here.
Message withdrawn at poster's request.
it was a long and late winter followed by about 4 weeks with no rain so spring is really late yes.
Apple tree only blossomed this week. I won't have apples until November at this rate!
Yes! If you judged season by the trees here you'd say it was late winter, crazy.
Yes. They're all still very sparse around here.
And the less said about my seeds the better . Mother Nature had better be preparing for a stonking heatwave to make up for this awful weather
.
Not at ours <eyes increasingly out of control hedge balefully>
My daffodils are still in flower, and my tulips are about to. No sigh of may blossom(Hawthorn). And I think the winter has killed the cherry trees as they still look like sticks.
Only bonus I can see is I have only had to cut the grass once this year!
My magnolia tree is a full month late flowering.
Spring is officially 4 - 6 weeks late this year.
Judging by the temperature in my sitting room, we have also been transported to Siberia in the night!
Our cherry tree has just blossomed. Normally we have green cherries on the trees at this time of year. It's shit.
