Two minor matters but they're recurring conversations and being told I'm wrong when I don't think I am is annoying.
First situation - sister noticed label sticking out of my top, she commented on the size saying I was too thin if I'm wearing this size clothes. The top was a size 6, I'm nowhere near a size 6 in most shops. - more like a 10 - but the top was last one left in Next whose sizes are very generous. I explained this to her but she thinks I'm in denial and have some kind of body dysmorphia going on (have had many conversations regarding it since.) I'm not wrong in saying some shops sizes are ridiculously out, am I?

Second situation - I am very organised and particular about the way in which I do things so accept I may be being unreasonable here. In my opinion, there is an order to the way washing up should be done - I.e starting with glasses and cups and then in order of cleanliness finishing with anything really greasy or dirty that's been soaking. DP, though I've mentioned this in the hope he'd see the logic, just puts everything in the sink then runs the water on top of it, washing items in whatever order he finds them. Washing up is the only household job he does but I feel there's no point him doing it as I often have to do it again. Last night, for example, we had sausages and the oven tray left a greasy residue on the glasses so all had to be washed again. He's not purposely doing it the opposite way to be to get out of it, he just thinks I'm being a bit obsessive compulsive about it.

AIBU to think I'm right, they're wrong and to tell them as much next time these conversations arise?

Sizes do vary a bit depending on the shop. Your order for washing up seems to make more sense. But at the same time, you should try not to let such tiny things bother you in a big way.

And if your sister had to see the number on the label to decide you are too thin shes a bit strange. Obviously you looked fine before that.

Cut the labels out of all your clothes and cook all food on disposable BBQs and use paper plates/plastic cutlery till OP learns to wash up properly.

The washing up I agree on. As for Next clothes, I'm a size 14 usually but can wear a 12. There's no way on earth I'd fit in to a 10 though so maybe your sister is just worried about you

Yanbu. Washing up order makes sense, this is the best way to do it. Clothes sizes are different in all stores also. I know a woman who takes a 16 in Topshop and a 12 everywhere else, weird.

On point one I have currently 2 pairs of jeans from this shop (in their current range and same boyfriend style) 1 pair are almost too big and 1 pair abit on the squeezy size and they are all labelled the same size.

Point 2 - my advice is get a dishwasher then you can just blame that! :)

I have a dishwasher but prefer washing up in the correct way - including rinsing glasses first! I'm 5'3 and just under 9 stone so certainly not a tiny size 6. I used to be about 6 stone heavier which I think is why she worries I have issues but I lost the weight about 7 years ago now and weight has been steady since so think she's daft for worrying

I have a size 6 dress from next. I'm a size 10 there and everywhere else normally but this dress is really oddly sized.

As for your dp, he's an idiot... Of course glasses get done in the cleanest water and oily stuff last.

I also tried on 2 pairs of trousers from there last month, they were labelled as the same size but there were a full 5 inches difference in the waist band. I was so I measured and told the assistant. (She shrugged).

DH is wrong too.

The sizes thing is frustrating isn't it? I returned a top which was a size 10 but massive and asked if they were getting in any more so I could exchange it for smaller size. Shop assistant commented that it's nice having to exchange something for a smaller size; I replied it'd be nicer to be able to buy your usual size knowing it'd fit and not have the hassle of returning items. Grumpy bugger that I am...

I had to learn the correct order for washing up in HE in school. Old gimmer that I am. It's glasses, cutlery, cups, plates change the water, mmm, forget after that. I'll google for you. Can't be just me that had to learn this.
