AIBU?

to want a break from all this illness?

My 4 dcs are unwell AGAIN, dd1 has a horrendous chest infection and was at hospital for a chest x ray after collapsing this afternoon. Ds1 has another virus-v high temp, sore throat, aching etc, dd2 has a horrible cold as does ds2.

All of them have serious underlying health issues/disabilities and I am overwhelmed.

I give them extra supplements/vitamins/healthy food. I take them to all their various appts and try to manage all their conditions but they are always unwell. Not a week goes by without an emergency dash to ooh or a+e.

AIBU to just wish for a few days where they are all well Sad I don't think I can take much more. Dcs are all miserable and feel awful and dh and I are absolutely run ragged and exhausted.

I absolutely yearn to be able to just wake up one day without that feeling of dread as to what the day might bring.

Yanbu :( I feel for you, and wish your family are free from all the viruses and colds soon.

It really does seem to have been the most awful winter and spring, in terms of illnesses and bugs! I know what you mean about the feeling of dread. Think my eldest is coming down with something today so am heading off to bed ASAP, expecting to be woken in the night!

It does seem like it has been worse throughout winter and spring.

Dcs always catch a lot but this year has been horrendous. I am just glad I managed to squeeze in their mmr last week between bouts of illness so at least they won't catch any of those.

I try so hard with making sure they eat healthily but it makes no diff, all of them were breastfed for ages too and they have all been sickly. Dh said imagine how bad they would have been without the antibodies from bm but really I can't see how they could be any worse.

I would just love to have a full nights sleep for once and to get up and do something nice knowing that whatever plans I made wouldn't be ruined by illness. I feel so sorry for dcs they don't complain but they are always unwell and it must be horrible for them.

I don't know how you do it. I have one child with health problems and that is hard enough to cope with.

Hope you get some health luck soon!

I'm clearly not doing very well Sad

At the moment all I'm getting done is feeding/bathing/looking after dcs. No housework, no sleep and I can't carry on like this. Every time I manage to get slightly on top of things theu are all ill again. Its hard enough (but just manageable) day to day with their health problems but throw a virus or two into the mix and we are ruined for at least a fortnight and at least one dc ends up in hospital each time.

I honestly feel like just keeping them all in forever! I make a huge effort to get them into school/pre school and then one by one they drop like flies poor little things Sad

Any plans we make are ALWAYS ruined I feel like giving up.

Dcs all off today and tucked up in bed still. I think all I can do is make the best of things. I just it soul destroying that we spend so much time at hospital appts etc and when we don't have any appts they are all ill and its horrible.

Dh is going in to work 2 hours late so that he can help with dcs for a bit as younger 2 are just waking up and are a handful and we are tired from them all being up again in night.

Keeping my fingers crossed that soon weather will be nice and dcs less likely to catch bugs.really trying to be positive!

I feel really guilty about dd1 though-I have been putting her back and chest pain, dizziness and feeling generally exhausted down to her other problems when in fact she had a terrible chest inf, collapsed yest and needed x ray and more antibiotics Sad
