I need to vent. Why does it seem the world and his wife has an opinion on your flippin buggy!!
I am looking to buy (from Gps as a present) 7 month old Dd a new buggy. I love the bugaboos but i just dont think i can afford a decent one so ive been looking at different styles for her.
No matter what i pick it seems to come under fire. So i thought sod it, im going with what WE like!!

WE like a Quinny Buzz 3, in black for £100. I think unpon research this is good?
Now ive just heard i will look chavvy, they are cheap and naff, common and nasty.
WELL im buying it arent i? Cant people just be nice and non judgey???

Please dont flame me for this because i do know peoples opinions get to me too much. Could you suggest a suitable response please? Also what you think of the Quinny!

AIBU to still even look at the Quinny?
or AIBU to give a shit on thoughts?

SPsYoniTheOneAndOnly Wed 08-May-13 15:44:02

I couldn't give a shit what prams people have. I generally dont give a shit about people grin

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong Wed 08-May-13 15:45:40

SPs i need this attitude!!!!!

ImTooHecsyForYourParty Wed 08-May-13 15:45:51

Well, you could always tell people that you don't care what they think. ime that always works.

or you could not ask people their opinions and then if they give them anyway, you can say that you don't care what they think. grin

me, I couldn't tell one pushchair from another. I didn't give a shit what type it was when my kids were in them and I still don't give a shit now.

I particularly don't give a shit what other people choose to do with their money so I wouldn't judge you on your pushchair but I would think those who give a crap what other people choose to spend their money on - are arses. grin

Pootles2010 Wed 08-May-13 15:46:39

Under fire from who? I can't imagine discussing my buggy plans with anyone tbh.

But no I'd never judge someone on something like that - can't say I'd notice what other people have!?

Sparklingbrook Wed 08-May-13 15:47:07

Pushchairs are pushchairs. Have whatever you want-seriously. The cheapest one that does the job surely?

Kasterborous Wed 08-May-13 15:47:12

Get whatever you want, knickers to what anyone thinks. I never even notice what pushchairs other people have to be honest. I remember when we bought ours I was seven months pregnant and couldn't give a crap by the end of the day I just said buy one!

SPsYoniTheOneAndOnly Wed 08-May-13 15:47:24

A pram is a pram. I couldn't care what make and I couldn't care of you push your 13 year old in one either.

I just don't care about what other people do. Take your goat out in a quinny for all I care

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Wed 08-May-13 15:47:41

Don't give a shit. But then again, I've have a Maclaren bought three years ago for £20 on eBay. So I'm probably being judged.

CrapBag Wed 08-May-13 15:48:06

I have never heard anyone judging about pushchairs, or what different ones represent. I get the pushchair I want because that's the one that I want, tough shit what some random person thinks, it isn't theirs.

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Wed 08-May-13 15:48:28

"Take your goat out in a quinny for all I care"

Sorry but I would point and laugh at that. <judgemental>

SpanielFace Wed 08-May-13 15:49:14

Honestly? I never notice what other people are pushing. Apparently my friend has a bugaboo, I never spotted. They're just buggies! Who cares, so long as it works?

Pascha Wed 08-May-13 15:49:31

Ahh fuckem. Get what you like and stop worrying what anyone else thinks. Quinnys are ten-a-penny so you will be in good company.

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong Wed 08-May-13 15:50:11

I knew you lot woould help smile

JambalayaCodfishPie Wed 08-May-13 15:50:34

Have you pushed it? I only judge when I see tall people pushing because they have to stoop so low to reach the handles they look ridiculous. And it must ache! smile

MrsTerryPratchett Wed 08-May-13 15:50:39

I'm a feminist. I refuse to be judged on my pram FFS. Tell people you have better and more important things to worry about. Yummy mummy bollocks. And, your nappy bag is not a designer handbag and even if it was, it doesn't make you big or clever.

Why am I so invested in this <walks off to think about it>?

LooseyMy Wed 08-May-13 15:52:49

I judge women who bring massive tank-buggies onto buses! A dainty little thing is so much easier for everyone on public transport!

mamalovebird Wed 08-May-13 15:53:35

If people have nowt better to do than comment or care on other people's pushchairs I'd suggest they a. need to to get more and b. should be grateful that's the the biggest thing they have to think about.

Ignore. I barely remember what buggy I have, never mind anyone elses.

MrsPennyapple Wed 08-May-13 15:54:33

I think YABU to give a shit smile

I never knew until I joined MN just brand-crazy people apparently get over pushchairs. It's like they are a status symbol or something! I don't give a moment's thought to anyone else's pushchair, and don't know anyone else who would either, so if it suits your purposes, get it.

It's just a thing that does a job, to me. You get the one that suits you, in terms of price and lifestyle. We bought a second hand Graco travel system when I was expecting DD, will be using it for DC2, and then it'll be given away or scrapped, depending on how much life is left in it. Yes it is chunky and heavy, but it is very sturdy and folds up quickly, with one hand. I didn't drive at the time, so those were the factors that were important to me.

Kat101 Wed 08-May-13 15:54:35

Much prefer a Maclaren. Great build quality, great for older babies and toddlers, folds up light and small for the car boot, basket reasonable. I'd pick one over anything else hands down.

I have absolutely no idea if anyone thinks anything about me and my not so trendy Maclaren, and I wouldn't waste any time giving it the time of day if they did they should get a life

mamalovebird Wed 08-May-13 15:54:50

a. need to get out more.

don't know what happened there.

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong Wed 08-May-13 15:56:16

Okay smile its my desicion and everyone can get lost!!

EwanHoozami Wed 08-May-13 15:58:57

Some people do make assumptions based on what pram you use, just as they do the car you drive and the clothes on your back. Whether you let this bother you is within your control.

SPsYoniTheOneAndOnly Wed 08-May-13 15:59:58

FriendsWithSalad You seem very judgey if you would judge someone on their goat transport grin
