Was her determination not to let a "certain historian" patronise the rest of the panel amazing? Also thought Victoria Coren was fab .

Yes YABU... She has done nothing for women and tried to take credit for other peoples endeavours... I can't stand her... She instantly makes me Angry..

No. I thought she came across badly.

It shows she doesn't understand the true insidious unfairness of nepotism. And that she spouts bollox - only a couple of weeks after Thatcher's death and she was complaining about "no women" in the House when she arrived there?

Does she have total 'foot in mouth' disease, or does she just expect her audience to be totally uncritical to the point of denseness?

She's ghastly. Smug to the nth degree.

My friend who works for a (labour) MP calls her Harriet Harperson and says that's the depth of her feminist credentials (ie. none at all).

She's awful Sad

She's one of the most ghastly, self serving people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.

Responsible for continuing to drive the break up of the family. Loathesome woman.

Ghastly woman. We call her Harridan Herman.
But she's not the only one. Unfortunately it seems that women need to be like that to succeed in politics.

I admire her and would prefer her to be running the labour party but I don't think she has the charisma to be PM.

I think you have to be a bit if a weasel to be in politics in the first place.

It is hard to be a woman in politics & people judge you differently from the men.

David starkey was in turns odious & ... er ... right (a bit). He made some good points but in a pompous manner. I think he came across as someone trying to entertain. It's a debate show FFS!

Your comment is based on what science or research, TheSecondComing?

I saw that Question Time.
David Starkey was dreadful and utterly patronising to all the women on the panel
I've nothing against HH, and I thought she and the other woman were very good against such rudeness.
I love Shirley Williams though.

Just to add that I exclude Shirley Williams from my generalisation. We could do with a few younger versions of her.

Yes I agree, I think Harriet Harmen is great as was Victoria Coren. Anyone know where VC got her dress from? Gorgeous. David Starkey - what a p**ck. Silly uptight public schoolboy.

Report
AuntieStella · 04/05/2013 10:15

Starkey is always a pompous git. You don't have to "hate other women" to think Harman's answer to that comment was dreadful and shallow. She's had a very privileged background, and it is wrong for her to try to airbrush it out.
