We are running out of space.

I am admittedly not very good at housework and the rooms in this house are not the biggest at the best of times. We have quite a bit of clutter..
Now, I have held on to some of it purely to sell.. leftover bits from our wedding (ahem, 8 months ago) and clothes and shoes the kids have outgrown mostly...

I do keep meaning to sell it but now that the postal prices have changed is it even worth my time sitting and listing it all on e bay which frankly could take a while and COULD make me a few quid or indeed fuck all or AIBU and should I as OH suggests "man up" and donate it all to charidee just to get rid of it...

Sell anything that will make you a decent amount of money and put the rest to charity. Or do a bootfair.

if you like living in a jumble sale, keep it.

If you can be arsed to sell it, do it.

If you don't like either of the above options, either recycle it or dump it.

There's a 'getting rid of stuff' thread in housekeeping - it's very inspiring.

I've stopped hanging on to stuff to ebay - it now goes to the charity shop and that makes me very happy.

Off to look for the thread you mentioned.. I didn't even know we had a housekeeping forum..

Do you need the money? If so, (or if it would be helpful), then sell it
If you don't need it, donate to charity. It's a good thing to do.

sort out what needs getting rid of , do a boot sale one mornings work, reasonable stall charge and whats left over when bootie finished take to the charity shop the next day, no postage no extra wonga for ebay, no bad feedback that way you should have made a few bob and the charity benefits from left overs

I've just sorted out a whole bunch of books to take to the charity shop.

I'm seriously thinking of just keeping my faves and uni books, and getting a kindle for any other books.

Depends how strapped for cash you are. If u are skint then all the little £1 odd profit here and there will add up, but frankly I couldn't be bother and would donate it.
Actually I 'freecycle' everything, then they collect at my convenience, even when something might fetch 50 quid on eBay, I don't particularly need the money, I am short of free time more and think it'll help some struggling family make ends meet easier.

We have a king size bed and under it are just box after box of old books.. course we cannot get rid of THOSE and that junk is his junk... <eyeroll>
