to park badly on purpose

I live in a cul-de-sac and our house backs onto a small service road, where all the garages face each other. My neighbours over the "road" have an annoying habit of parking really far forward in their space, (ostensibly so their washing doesn't rub against the car when it is on the line, but often the line has no washing on it) which makes it VERY difficult to get my car out of my drive. The service road is very narrow as it is. Anyway, I've asked them several times to park back on their drive to leave the communal road clear but my request has fallen on deaf ears. They always use my drive to reverse into their space as the road isn't wide enough for them to turn, so AIBU to park badly making this impossible. Just to be clear, my car is completely on my own property, but there is no way that anyway else could use my drive to turn around.

Inconsiderate parking between neighbours is one of my pet hates. Our next door neighbour loves to park her car up the arse of our driveway, making it really tricky to reverse in. After asking her many times not to park over the drop kerb, I just parked on the road as close to her bumper as possible. The neighbour on the other side who she routinely pisses off as well parked the same way at the front. She doesn't park there any more.

I would. It may be petty but so what? If it is your car wholly on your property you can park it however the hell you like. What are they going to say? Move your car off your drive so that I can use your drive. ? screw that.

If you were saying you were going to park badly on a public road, I would say no, but on your own property? Park as badly as you like

Your neighbours certainly aren't entitled to use your drive to turn around in.

Park however you want on your drive, and 'treat' yourself to one of those flip up/down lockable bollards on the end of your drive. For those times when you can't be there... But them I'm petty like that.

I'm glad I'm not being totally unreasonable anyway. I don't normally get so riled but I was running late yesterday and it took me ages to get out of my own drive. I had to reverse and pull back in 11 times to swing around enough. The air was blue . I have now calmed down a bit but unfortunately my "bad" parking probably hasn't even noticed as their car hasn't gone anywhere since and I need to go out this morning.

Use wheelie bins to 'guard' your drive when you're out. That's what our neighbour does. Sometimes he chains them together.

My neighbours do this. I mean park right at the edge of their property so none of us can turn our cars round. It is indeed very annoying for the one time in a week i need to use my car.

Of course it is legal, just not very friendly. Otherwise they are very nice people.

take some pics the next time they park and you can't get your car out/or struggle and pop down to the local nick, apparently they can do something if the car is blocking the drive.

gotta love annoying neighbors, we have one who seems to be allergic to parking on the drive. it's a public road and they pay their road tax so they have the right to park in the road, I'll give them that, but just a nightmare when i get home dd.

I end up not being able to park near the house, and end up walking the length of the road to get to the house because neighbor doesn't seem able to reverse her car onto drive unless she can't park immediately outside the house. we have a drive but dp as his car on there.

If you are on your property you can park upside down if you like. They can just find somewhere else.

I was also wondering what you'd do to "guard" the drive when you were out but Chicken's suggestion of using wheelie bins would work just fine and far cheaper than a gate!
