Just got the washing out of the machine to find that its all covered in small pieces of torn up paper tissue, I just want to bloody scream!!!!! I don't know how many times I've told him to check his pockets before he puts his clothes for wash, and to use the flipping balm hankies that are sitting on the welsh dresser in the kitchen when he wants a hankie as they don't disintegrate into millions of pieces in the washing machine should he forget to take it out. The cheeky bastard has just told me that I should of checked his clothes pockets before washing them, to which I told him I'm your wife not your bloody mother, am now thinking this is serious grounds for divorce.

Whoever puts it in the wash makes sure there's nothing in the pockets, if I collect something from DDs bedroom I'll check, but if, by some random miracle, she puts something in, then she should have checked.

Who wants to go fishing about in someones pockets? There might be snot rags or something lurking, waiting to spread their manky germs about

I always check pockets myself that way I know nothings in anyones pockets before it goes in have gotten used to it after bringing kids up.

I think it is unreasonable to reach into the washer and have to go through the pockets.

Tissues are horrendous when they've been through the 40 spin. Even money doesn't fair well.

YANBU. But my DH was even unreasonabler WRT to washing machines and pockets. Towards the end of our holiday in Spain a while ago, I said to DH "we're very short on spends, have you got any lying about anywhere?". Him: "No, DW".

A week later when I'm ironing his shorts (yes, I'm that type of wife), I think "What's that bulge in his pocket?". NINETY EUROS! The two twenties rolled up on the inside were salvageable, but the fifty on the outside was beyond repair Sad and Angry.

Ahahaha! Serious ground for divorce made me laugh out loud!
However, I tend to agree with you DP that whoever puts the wash on has to check the pockets, Sorry!

MsVestibule, you just made me laugh out loud. Possibly the way you said it.
