Mercedes (in our area) are as useful as a chocolate fire guard... 

1. trying for six weeks to get car booked in for a service. Got nowhere you would think I was trying to get an appointment with the Pop
   
2. they never return calls, very f@@king irritating 
   
3. they just called to say they had serviced my car but they FORGOT, yes FORGOT to replace my worn and faulty breaks but were happy for me to pick it up and drive off in it tomorrow. I have to be on the road a lot because of work so I wonder what they would have said had I crashed due to faulty breaks.... 
   
   To say the least I just kicked off..... I don't expect a response but I have to have rant.

Take it to a different garage if they are so useless. it doesn't need to be serviced at aain dealer to preserve the warranty.

firstly new to this so not to sure of what is and is not acceptable and excuse the spelling (auto text) and I am dyslexic so rely on auto text a lot.

They called to say I could pick car up tomorrow but as no service team in they wanted me to pay over the phone. I told them to fuck off and that I was going to turn up and kick off in the garage in front of all their customers tomorrow. They are now giving me a courtesy car and a discount on the service and new breaks. Still irritated though...

I take your point on the job... I am very grateful for that in the current climate.

good for you OP. i'm not sure what response they expected when they rung you up to tel you they hadn't done the job you asked them to surely it would have been better for them to just do the brakes and then call you to say it was ready? or if that was going to be behind schedule then call you and say they were running behind and would give you discount and courtesy car.

There will be independent garages who specialise in Mercedes cars out there. They will probably be cheaper and actually care about your custom. The independent Toyota specialist I used (and bought the car from) was brilliant. I think Honest John's website is a good starting point for decent independent garages.

LittlePeaPod They were meant to service it but kept ringing me coz they said this and that extra was needed (bill was coming to about £500). They rang again and I said 'Oh God, what now?' They said we've had a little accident with your car.

Its a fairly small town and I found out a few months later from someone that the mechanic had taken it out for a blast and then took the traction control off and spun the back end round on wet leaves on a bend. Car went sideways down a deep ditch and was completely written off. I also heard that this particular model is often taken out on fun-runs by the mechanics
