I have an extremely umm nutty (to put it politely) upstairs neighbour.
I hav had several run ins with her, some of you may remember the junk mail incident? Seems to be sorted at the moment.

Now, I know when you live in a flat noise is to be expected and I do expect to be able to hear her pottering around etc but she is just so noisy!!!! It sounds like she's dragging furniture around every night!!

I have asked her politely many times to keep the banging around to a minimum and for a day or two she does.

Tonight I am losing my will with her, bang bang bang is all I can hear, even with my tv on.

Its so bad I just want to scream "will you please stop banging?" (I'm really not normally a confrontational person)

Can you look into getting a dropped ceiling? Unfortunately she may well be mentally ill and you might have to suck it up or move out.

We will be moving eventually, since I'm 13 weeks pregnant and we live in a small 1 bed. But that's not going to be for a while and its driving me mad!!!

What's a dropped ceiling?

I am thinking it means a kind of 'false' ceiling, so some of the noise is trapped in the gap IUSWIM.

Ah I see. It's a rented flat so doubt that's possible.

Dunno then. Is it local authority or private let? Assuming that you will have more leeway with local authority. Might be worth an ask if you were able to fund it yourself. No idea of cost, just thinking that if you were at wits end. And the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and all that...
