To think 'Fat' Monica is about a size 16?

They've just replayed one of the friends episodes where Monica is fat - not the one in the actual past but the one in the pretend future and she doesn't look that fat to me confused

I'm sure she looked fatter in the 'past' one. The only bit that looks actually chubby is her face.

i never guess sizes right so dont have a clue what size she looks. but it has always annoyed me that they made out she was absoloutely humoungous when really she wasn't. i remember them finding her old bathing costume and it was really massive, and all the comments about her breaking the porch swing etc.

Maybe an American size 16...
(i hope I've got that the right way round smile )

Bearing in mind that she was a teenager when she was that size, I'd say she was very big. Agree, at least a 20.

yy US 16 is UK 20.

I can't really think exactly when you mean, but the images I can call to mind are of her much larger than a size 16 (and although a size 16 is on the larger side, I generally don't class it as particularly fat, maybe a bit plump).

juneybean Thu 25-Apr-13 18:11:02

No absolutely not, she looks bigger than me and I'm an 18-20 now

No way. More like a 20-22. I was a size 16 after I had DS and I was nowhere near as fat as Fat Monica.

JamieandtheMagicTorch Thu 25-Apr-13 18:16:03

I think our perspectives on who looks fat have altered in the last generation

cocolepew Thu 25-Apr-13 18:17:15

No way, much bigger than a 16.

Haylebop12 Thu 25-Apr-13 18:21:33

I'm a 16 and yes I'm overweight but pretty sore I don't look as big as "fat Monica"

Would say about a 22.

Haylebop12 Thu 25-Apr-13 18:22:03

I'm not sore, I'm sure

alienbanana Thu 25-Apr-13 18:24:49

Definitely bigger than a 16 here

I'm a size 20 and not quite that big!

Maybe slightly smaller here ?

confused

I'm a 14 at the moment and she looks a lot bigger than me. But her face seems to have too many chins compared to the size of her body.

StuntGirl Thu 25-Apr-13 18:29:12

Yeah def. not a 16.

fuzzpig Thu 25-Apr-13 18:31:09

I would say maybe 24. In uk size anyway.

Lj8893 Thu 25-Apr-13 18:31:35

Hmm I'm a size 16 (18 at the moment at 13 wks pregnant) and I would say she's not that much bigger than I am. Completely different shape but she's really not as big as she's made out to be.

A bit like the "fat" girl in the inbetweeners movie, really not as fat as she's made out to be!!

givemeaclue Thu 25-Apr-13 18:33:03

No. She is very big. 20 Plus at least, rolls of fat on her neck

LaurieFairyCake Thu 25-Apr-13 18:33:37

alienbanana - that second picture was from the programme I watched tonight - she does look fatter to me in the first one.

CloudsAndTrees Thu 25-Apr-13 18:34:10

Which episode do you mean?

I think she looks way bigger than a UK 16.

SarahAndFuck Thu 25-Apr-13 18:35:18

Fat Monica when we saw her was never as fat as I expected her to be.

They made her face look fat but the rest of her wasn't as big as we were lead to believe when Rachel said she made Monica's band outfit and they were told it was for the mascot.

LaurieFairyCake Thu 25-Apr-13 18:38:07

Clouds - the one where Ross stays with Carol, phoebe works for Merrill Lynch, joey stays on days of our lives, and Monica is fat and loses her virginity to Chandler

LaurieFairyCake Thu 25-Apr-13 18:38:28

It's alienbanana 's second picture.

CloudsAndTrees Thu 25-Apr-13 18:43:55

Thanks Laurie.

Looking at those pictures, I still think she looks bigger than a 16, but not as big as I had originally remembered.

Her body doesn't look as big as I'd thought, but I think that's because i remembered the huge double child they put on her which makes everything else seem bigger somehow.
