Ok I know I am weird and unreasonable

But I love writing with a naice pen grin

I have just started a course and have homework which I have done in my best handwriting with a very nice pen!!

I love sharpie pens too, in this world full of technology it's nice to write sometimes though I am a bit obsessed with technology too

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

YANBU

My handwriting is much more legible with a fountain pen. I boight myself a nice one for passing my professional quals. Makes me a little but happy to write with it.

One of my managers picked it up and started to write something is some horrible cak handed way on Friday, I looked a right dick as I snatched it out of her hand with a cry of 'no, use this biro instead' but seriously, she was dragging the nub upside down and the wrong way. <shudder >

I like a naice fountain pen too. I have 4 in current use with different coloured inks. (bit obsessive I know but they're not expensive pens).
I think I may have some old ones lurking around too.

The Pickwick, the Owl and the Waverley Pen.'

Sorry - just musing. An advertising sign of my childhood.

Yanbu I'm especially keen on very old fountain pens I'm also very fussy about ink.

imour - I think you can get special nibs for left hand writers, but it does depend on your style of writing.

When I'm writing anything by hand, I always use a fountain pen. My favourite is on my desk in my study, it was a gift from my father when I earned my PhD.

Kleptronic Mon 22-Apr-13 23:19:27

I always have three fountain pens about my person (they have different line thickness), and a fineliner for drawing.

IneedAsockamnesty Mon 22-Apr-13 23:21:24

Yes you can get left hand nips

This bloke www.andys-pens.co.uk/ can do anything you can imagine with a fountain pen,he's also very nice.

IneedAsockamnesty Mon 22-Apr-13 23:21:50

Hahahahaha nips obviously I meant nibs

imour Mon 22-Apr-13 23:23:58

thanks andro ,but its my excuse to get my oh to write cards and odd things now , i write really weird with my arm over the top of the paper and my hand curled round as far as i can so i dont smudge as i write ,makes your hand ache so im glad we can type on pc now .

I might have just ordered some pens because I bought one and am now so in love with it I can't bear to write with anything else.

Which would be fine. Except the only sell them in Australia blush

SaggyOldClothCatPuss Mon 22-Apr-13 23:27:59

Mmmm. A lovely, smooth fountain pen, with a nice medium flow and purple ink.

I have a beautiful blue pilot capless fountain pen in carbonesque blue. It is the only pen I can use if I have to think, unless I am in a pencil mood in which case it has to be a .5mm fabric castel grip mechanical pencil.

Bloody hell, Andy's got the loveliest pens I've ever seen, and the absolutely worst website, I thought I'd been transported to 1996 there.

Kleptronic Mon 22-Apr-13 23:34:38

Mind you that Cult Pens is a bit iffy too. Still if it's pens bugger the bytes eh.

IneedAsockamnesty Mon 22-Apr-13 23:39:16

I know the websites not great but the pens are as is his knowledge and ability to source interesting pens, I've been buying from him for about 15 years now he's brilliant

Kleptronic Mon 22-Apr-13 23:49:00

Ooh no I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be passremarkable, I'd buy a pen from him like a shot, his probity is not in doubt. It's my line of work you see and it's rare to see a vintage site these days, nothing wrong with it though!

IneedAsockamnesty Mon 22-Apr-13 23:57:37

He's got a really cool shop as well some where in Kent.

Years ago he had the most wonderful old wooden desk boxed pen think it was a Conway Stewart with the original still wax sealed ink with stunning ink dip pots,it was one of only about 5 made and had never been used.

A thing of beauty
