What do you find offensive?

It is rather stupidly worded IMO. They could have made their point in a better way.

Looks useful, I think the seller has a child with SN herself?

Report
DiscoDonkey · 18/04/2013 17:16

It's the assumption that children with those conditions specifically need restraining.

MsFlippingHeck · 18/04/2013 17:17

I don't see a problem tbh.

It is what it is. It's a description of an item that is produced to keep children safe in a vehicle.

Well, if you look at the sellers previous auctions, she's cant spell basic key words, which is why all her stuff goes dead cheap.

She might be coming from the POV that she has a child with problems but isn't literate enough to expand on that.

Few people want to read through swathes of personal circumstances in ebay, they want an auction that is to the point.

LineRunner · 18/04/2013 17:17

It's quite .... blunt.

ffs, she's not writing a compelling essay about her POV. She's advertising a product and mentioning who might find it useful. Context is everything.

Report
DiscoDonkey · 18/04/2013 17:19

She doesn't have to give personal details though, but your right some people aren't very good at expressing themselves.

Ideal for children who require extra restraints. Simples

I think it's fine (if rather unsophisticated). My SS has ASD/SLD and ADHD and needs restraining in a car. And he is 17!
Most people with a child in these circumstances will probably find this an ok description addressing a real safety need.

She has only written a vague description, she is hardly going to write a novel for an ebay auction, its not offensive, just blunt.

LilQueenie · 18/04/2013 17:23

Fair enough. I dont have a child with SN but when I read that auction I felt bad for those who do. Like I said maybe its me who has stuff to learn.

I thought it was a little insulting to think that a harness must be used for children with adhd/aspergers/autism. Ive never thought that way about children with these conditions.

I apologise.

Lilqueenie, you don't need to apologise, my DS has asd I don't want people to assume he needs restraining, he doesn't.

This has been answered/ resolved as such but just to add, my son is Autistic with SLD and ADHD and most definetly needs restraining in a car.

I dont find it offensive at all.

She is just saying it might suit succ circumstances not that all asd children need one.. and that its different from usually configured car restraints . The

Thanks for the link - I could do with one of these for ds (asd and needs restraining)

It's a brief description of a very useful product - not offensive at all to me.

Just an ad for a crelling harness, anyone with a use for one would know what it is and not be offended-don't worry!

She'd possibly get more interest if she put 'crelling' in the title.
