Am not a big crisp eater, but just recently we have been buying those Walkers Baked crisps as I assume they are healthier hmm grin

Anyway, stole 3 large crisps out of dh's bag. This left about 1/4 bag of crisps. I was so appalled I had to get my own bag to check....

I reckon there is about 22 crisps in a bag, and it is about 1/3 to 1/4 full. Are we being ripped off here? Other bags seem to be about 3/4 full

Are about 22 crisps. Tut tut at my shocking grammar.

i heard on steve wright in the afternoon that eating one standard bag of crisps per day for a year is the equivalent of drinking 5ltrs of cooking oil

Jestrin Wed 17-Apr-13 21:09:38

Really? I eat about three! They are the only vice I have! grin

SantanaLopez Wed 17-Apr-13 21:09:52

Walkers are the worst for it! There's like 2 crisps per bag. WTF.

LemonPeculiarJones Wed 17-Apr-13 21:10:17

YANBU. It's a joke. It's more like five crisps per packet, accompanied by sundry crumbs.

It is a sign that our society is at breaking point.

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:12:51

thAT IS HOW THEY ARE HEALTHY ALL AIR NO CRISP [GRIN] i got a multi pack of Mcoys the other day opened a packet and i swear i counted 14 crisps including crumbs angry

UserError Wed 17-Apr-13 21:14:17

It's ridiculous. I think they're trying to reduce the calories by including more air.

orangeandlemons Wed 17-Apr-13 21:14:57

2 crisps per bag sounds about right. Why don't they put them in smaller bags so we know what we are getting. < laughs head off>

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:16:48

year is the equivalent of drinking 5ltrs of cooking oil

if it comes in a bag and tastes of cheese and onion im good with that grin

janey68 Wed 17-Apr-13 21:18:33

Yeap minuscule -its shocking.
You used to be able to filch a handful and there would
Still be a reasonable amount left

orangeandlemons Wed 17-Apr-13 21:18:35

Not eating my crisps it doesn't. There's none to eat in one of those bags

MrsTerryPratchett Wed 17-Apr-13 21:18:55

The theory is that with crisps and cereal both of which give you half a bag at most the air is there to stop them getting crushed in transit. I think it's bullshit but it sounds good.

orangeandlemons Wed 17-Apr-13 21:21:17

Oh I know all about that. Ex dp used to work for Kellogs. They need about 1/4 to 1/5 of a bag/box to allow for movement. So 1/4 bag of crispis just a load of crap

Jestrin Wed 17-Apr-13 21:22:32

Which is why I buy the sharing bags and don't share grin

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:23:19

I sometimes get the grab bags when im being greedy but they really are like the olden days normal bag of crisps

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:23:42

Which is why I buy the sharing bags and don't share

oh xpost grin

seriouscakeeater Wed 17-Apr-13 21:25:24

DH uses this excuse to eat three bags at once hmm

Jestrin Wed 17-Apr-13 21:26:48

mrsjay great minds think alike! grin

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:27:00

yes so does mine he will say look hardly anything in but it is taking a bit far when he goes for his 3rd packet

orangeandlemons Wed 17-Apr-13 21:27:08

But tis only Walkers. Have just investigated a bag of quavers ( in the name of research of course, you understand). Nearly full to the top.

So how come they don't need as much air room as Walkers?

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:27:24

aye jestrin grin

mrsjay Wed 17-Apr-13 21:28:08

who makes Mccoys because they are the same ? and they are meant to be 'man crisps' wink

Yonihadtoask Wed 17-Apr-13 21:29:00

I was just making up DS packed lunch - and he always gets a pack of crisps.
He was lucky and had Walkers this week - but the. packet was virtually flat. I got out a couple more packs to compare and theywere the same.
