I think I have had enough of wearing jeans in general, I'm thinking of going Kirsty Alllsop.

I'm a size 12, usually between 9.7 and 10 stones but I'm finding that my jeans are just so bloody uncomfortable, I'm always pulling them up or they are too tight, after 3 DCs I can't find any that are comfy around the waist.

Am I the only one, am I just buying shit jeans. I think I need a compete style change.

I'm the same - but even when I was very thin I still looked horrible in jeans. They seem to be cut for women that don't have hips.. Although saying that the only pairs that have ever looked good were old (mens) navy and prison jeans! (It was the 90s)

(I love your user name BTW - watching AD at the moment and just saw the Motherboy xxx ep)

I wear jeggings that go right to my armpits :o

I have yet to find jeans that sit right at the waist.

(Also - am watching for any jean suggestions)

Gap are the only one that fit me. Small waist and big hips.

I am sat down right now with my button undone (TMI), I have on skinny jeans from Sainsbury's, ha, maybe that's where I'm going wrong ( I do have more expensive pairs, all the same).

scortja I love AD, I hope to be like Lucille when I'm old Wink

I wear Next Bootcut Jeans or
Phase Eight Jeans. Just the right amount of stretch and clinging in all the right places.
Giving up jeans would never be an alternative. If I'm not at work, I'm always in Jeans (with exception of going out etc).

On the subject of Gap try the "sexy boyfriend" cut (just ignore the appalling naming) I went down a size and then they are a bit less baggy but not so tight as skinny jeans. Loving them at the moment.

YANBU, try it for a while. I did and my wardrobe became much more interesting - dresses, skirts, playsuits etc... I now wear jeans far less often, though have found a few comfy pairs now. Uniqlo are good, stretchy and cheap.

Can I join you?
I have never found a pair of jeans that make me feel good. They are either too tight or fall down. I have to have a stiff drink and give myself a good talking to before I go jeans shopping. It's the seventh circle of hell IMHO.
I wonder where Kirsty gets her frocks from, they look very expensive.

I swear by Gap High Rise Skinnies. They come right up to the waist and are very comfortable indeed. IMO they definitely come up higher than the Next or Top Shop ones.

Haven't worn jeans for about 7 years now. I'm a size 16 ish now but even when I was a size 10 I found it hard to find ones that fit. I don't think my body fits a jean shape (big bum, small waist)
Some people just look fantastic in jeans Envy

I have the next high rise ones, I will try gap though.

I do like the idea of swanning around in funky dresses and skirts but it just doesn't seem practical iykwim.

The only jeans I found to ever fit me were some h&m maternity ones. I cried when they finally died. I found them when I was only 12 weeks along and they lasted until my LO was about 9 months.

I too am ready to give up. The low rise jeans keep falling down and look baggy around the arse, the high rise jeans cut my substantial belly in half, making me look like two links of sausage. :(

SorrelForbes · 17/04/2013 17:05

The Gap High Rise Skinnies are really, really good and come up right above the natural waist which helps with the 'being cut in two' issue!

I wear "Not Your Daughters Jeans". Most expensive jeans I have ever bought (£120!) but worth every, single penny.

Built for women, not teenagers. Proper waists, panels to hold you in, enough give that you can sit without having your blood supply cut off.

I got mine at John Lewis, but lots of independant shops stock them too.

Another bonus - they are in US sizes, so you buy the size below your UK size. Always makes me feel thin!

I have some Not Your Daughters Jeans as well. I bloody fainted at the cost but they are forgiving. Best thing is that the pockets are sewn into the fly IYSWIM so that you never have the bulgy pockets/fabric hanging issue that you get with some jeans.

Sorrel thanks for the suggestion. However, the jeans would have to go all the way up to the underside of my boobs to avoid the 'cut in half' look. And if I try a larger size around the waist they are baggy everywhere else. :(

Off to google Not Your Daughters Jeans......great name, great idea.

I have that post C section hang and my youngest is 2, I don't think it will go without surgery tbh.

I tried a few pairs of NYDJ at JL and they were very nice but not as flattering as the Gap ones. Jeans are so personal though, like bras Grin.

Report
LucilleBluth · 17/04/2013 17:41

Not sure the NYDJ are my style ( not that I have much style with 3DCs), the quest for the perfect jean continues, if I can't find any then Allsop it is.

Until I got old, I could wear tight jeans, but did prefer stretch ones.
Now, I can wear them if I am not sitting down or doing housework/gardening as they hurt.

My fave for comfort are elasticated waists. My jeggings are the soft polyester stretch types that look like denim and feel like a 2nd skin but without the wrinkles!!
