DD has a mate over unexpectedly...wasn't planned...doing it to help out the Mum.

All I have in are cheapo pizza and garlic bread, salad and noodles! Would you be Shock if that's what your child was fed at a friends?

I usually feed them better than that but I've not been out all day as working!

I'd be fine with anything you fed DD.

Wouldn't bother me at all, they'll probably love it!

You're doing her a favour not like your just feeding her sweets/crap

Sounds good to me, I'd just be grateful you'd managed to feed her at short notice.

I wouldn't be bothered. It's not like your giving them bags and bags of sweets

Sounds lovely. What's not to like?

The mum probably won't even know as I always used to ask my dd what she'd had to eat (nosy) and she rarely could tell me.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest - I would be very grateful you were helping me out and feeding my kid!

I wouldn't bother with the noodles, doesn't really go well with pizza. The rest sounds fine, pizza with garlic bread and salad is a normal tea in this house.

Is it an unwritten rule that you feed other peoples kids pizza when they are round?

Everytime I had friends round it was pizza served

After several 'normal" meals weren't eaten by DC's friends, I only ever served pizza, fish fingers or sausages on playdates when they were younger..

Although now i know their friends tastes as well as their own mother, having been feeding some of them for years.

I did a lovely spag bol for one of dds friends-she didn't touch it(was well pee'd), next time it was fish fingers and chips and she ate the lot!

Why do people start threads like this? It's just stealth boasting really, no? "Oh, normally I would feed them venison tartare with edamame bean mousse and miso vol-au-vents with roquefort-infused clams ...." etc etc.

There's salad in there, isn't there?! ConfusedGrin

I normally do pizza when the girls have friends over, as it seems to be the one meal every child eats. Its always a risk trying other things if you don't know the children.

I'm sure her mum won't start a thread about the terrible food you gave her DD.

On the other hand...

Report
Ragwort · 17/04/2013 16:37

I would always give visiting children that sort of meal and wouldn't even bother with salad.

I expect 90% of the population eats like that but daren't admit it on Mumsnet. Grin.
