To think that dogs are loads better than cats?

They don't dig their claws in you to show they love you.
They get excited when you come home
They deter burglars
They sit on your feet when you ask them to
My son isn't allergic to them
They don't hide under furniture to claw you when you walk past
They don't leave half-dead 'presents' as often
They are less likely to bugger off to the neighbours and get lost.

... and bunnies are better than both:

They are furry and loveable.
They are just the right mixture of affection and not-in-your-face-ness.
They are gentle.

YABU

Dogs leave massive stinking turds in our local park ready for children to run or fall into.

CreatureRetorts ... i tend to think of it as being the dog owners who leave the poo.

YANBU. Dogs don't poo at the bottom of the side whilst sneering superciliously then slink off with their tails in the air saying, "Miaow - You - far side of fuck. Go check it out, arseface."

CreatureRotorts Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed to go to school, due to some cat conspiracy, and so cannot read the 'No Dogs' signs, and don't know what the little red bins are for. They have to rely on humans, some of whom are stupid.

My dog rolled in fox shit this morning. My dog is a bastard. UABU to big up dogs. They don't deserve it.

I much prefer bunnies!

No they aren't. I have both. Cats have the advantage of not getting hysterical when you come home after a whole two hours out at work. I have been half licked to death three times this week with pitiful over excitment and grtitude that I came home (jut like I always do)

However at least dogs don't try and shove themselves up your nostril to hide if the wind is upsetting them during the night.

YANBU to prefer dogs. But YABU to say dogs are better. Personally I prefer cats; they don't smell and they don't drool all over me when I'm trying to eat my dinner.

No way. Cats are independent and mine only use a litter tray. They are cuddly and amusing and lazy. I would never in a million years have a puppy having heard what kind of hard work they are.

Also, although you sound nice OP, I am heartily sick of dog owners who expect the whole world to think their dog is lovely and funny whilst they slobber over my children with their arsey poo breath and dog germs, whilst the owners chuckles away "he won't hurt you!".

I love both. Both have their pros and cons.

I hate how cats are portrayed as evil though.

In films like Cats & Dogs, Lady and the Tramp etc.

Awww look at those kittens

I want a box of fluffy kittens.

Sorry OP I love my dog in a strange erm.. 'well I have to keep you as the boys love you way' but she stinks, she does need a bath but she might scratch my new bath.

She also has some nasty habits I will not go into as it is disgusting.

Puppies and small dogs are cute.

Oh, I want either

I was at a friend's house the other day and her cat came and curled up on my lap. I've really missed it since my PiLs cat died.

A dog is fairly unlikely, as we're a bit slatternly at the best of times, so adding a dog into that probably isn't a good idea. But a cat to curl up on your lap and be stroked and purr at you... sigh.

cats are far superior to dogs
They dont sniff your crouch
They dont eat their own poo
They dont bark all hours of the day and night if left alone
They dont have owners who leave little poo bags on hedges and in trees
They dont need a human to take them for a walk
They take up less room on the bed then most dogs
They are by far cutier

Personally I'm very jealous of my friend's chickens. They are gorgeous, don't mind the kids and provide eggs. Sounds like the perfect pet to me!

Wet dog smell
Dog breath
Dogs stick their nose in other dog's bums/poo and lick your face.
