AIBU to ask have Mumsnet HQ considered a "Recommend" button for comments.

I only ask as have gotten used to it on news oriented sites so automatically am primed to look for a Recommend button for the numerous comments on Mumsnet which I have found useful / informative / heartfelt whatever, just some way of indicating my appreciation of the effort made.

I think OP means the sort of button that 'likes' that particular post on a thread, because it's either very funny or very helpful (and sometimes both!). I'm used to it on newspaper site forums too, and have wanted to show my appreciation of something particularly insightful or that had me snorting my wine tea over the keyboard.

I'd also love a way to reply directly to a particular post, another available option that's certainly available on the Telegraph site - although I can see its downsides as well.

That's it DeepRedBettty I read a great comment on here and I'd like to acknowledge it somehow. I accept the downside could be a skewing of posts to seek out recommends, but your average discerning mumsnetter would see beyond that...

5318008 didn't know it had come up before. Fair enough, if the consensus is a no. FWIW am not a Facebooker, not my scene, just have gotten used to the news comment pages like Guardian CIF where it is v easy to acknowledge interesting posts.
