You actually got yelled at? What on earth did they say?

ExitPursuedByYoniBear Fri 12-Apr-13 15:14:50

Sorry you met a twat.

I used to do the pr for Maclaren years ago. I would be aware that your child had special needs. But why on earth would anyone feel the need to pass judgement?

I am sorry you had to experience that. Some people really are just vile.

Flobbadobs Fri 12-Apr-13 15:16:13

Please tell me you yelled back that it's a special needs one? I use the bus all the time and think that there is a special selection of arseholes who get on just to bitch and moan at everyone else..
flowers for you.

PregnantPain Fri 12-Apr-13 15:17:12

I saw a lady in Mcdonalds yesterday with that buggy, I didn't think it was that big to be honest and would not even consider shouting at someone with what is clearly a special needs buggy, I didn't know what they looked like per se but gathered from the solid plastic footrest thingy.

What did they yell at you?

xfrillyknickersx Fri 12-Apr-13 15:17:52

I have seen once of these in RL. I don't think they are that big but maybe that's me being naive. I'm sorry you were yelled at though sad that's awful. What an idiot.

PregnantPain Fri 12-Apr-13 15:18:35

Was that you by any chance OP? If it was your DS is lovely smile

Lambzig Fri 12-Apr-13 15:18:57

So sorry that you had to put up with that. What an appalling person.

Moominsarehippos Fri 12-Apr-13 15:20:57

But it looks like a buggy for an older child with health or mobility problems. Some people are just so thick!

GoingVerySlowlyMad Fri 12-Apr-13 15:21:55

Seriously some people should be banned from opening their mouths! That is shameful. My old neighbour had one of those for her son and whilst it is a bit taller than most buggies, I don't think it is much wider. We both used to fit on the bus together fine.

FreudiansSlipper Fri 12-Apr-13 15:27:14

I am sorry you had to deal with this judgy twats how can anyone pass judgement on why an older child might be in a buggy it could be for many reasons

I'm sorry you got yelled at. I hope you were okay. thanks

WandaDoff Fri 12-Apr-13 15:35:06

We have one of these for DD.

I've been muttered at a few times, but I have a stony faced glare that seems to work at shutting idiots up.
If anyone dared to shout at me then they would be informed that it is a special needs pushchair provided by wheelchair services & therefore not a buggy. I would also try not to swear or rant at them & rather embarrass them with politeness & reason.

However if I've had a bad day, then that probably isn't what I'd do wink

Sorry you have to put up with this kind of shite. There is some really ignorant & stupid people out there.

Floggingmolly Fri 12-Apr-13 15:36:59

It looks like it takes up a hell of a lot less space than one of those Phil and Ted yokes. They don't get yelled at, do they? confused
I think the key part of your story is that you were on a London bus...
All the best crazies travel this way (sadly I have to join them quite often)

quoteunquote Fri 12-Apr-13 15:38:48

horrid people, so stupid pointless and mean,

I hope they realise and never open their ignorant mouths again.

Floggingmolly Fri 12-Apr-13 15:39:04

I was referring to the loon who yelled at you, btw. My post could be open to interpretation blush

Shellywelly1973 Fri 12-Apr-13 15:40:37

I have a Ds with SN but not mobility problems.

People can be twats at times! I think its very obvious if a child is sitting in one of those buggies its for a very good reason.

Take no notice...I know easier said then done. Take care.

Trills Fri 12-Apr-13 15:40:54

YABU to ask us all to look at the picture. It just looks like a buggy.

It's wrong of someone to yell at you for having a big buggy whether your child has special needs or not.

LadyVoldemort Fri 12-Apr-13 15:41:09

I didn't know they were specifically SN pushchairs but always assumed they were. You shouldn't have to point anything out anyway, it's no one else's business! Sorry you've met some twatty people OP.

I thought everyone knew they were pushchairs for children with SN. And I'm someone who is childless and knows next to nothing about pushchairs.
