To be shocked at Game of Thrones - it's very rude!

I just got a copy of series 1 of Game of Thrones from a mate.

It's very rude. It's like Lord of the Rings, only with tits and incest. I had heard about it and thought DS 14 would enjoy something like that. After watching it myself, I think he would enjoy it a little too much.

I think it's fab, but I haven't seen any other TV series that feature so much full frontal nudity. It even has willies!

AIBU to be totally shocked at how rude it is?

I love GoT - it's definitely gone less racier though. Or I'm taking less notice?

Oh and I thought the finale of WD was awful this season, last seasons was much better. This wasn't remotely cliffhanger-y. Meh.

I'm patiently waiting for a new series of Sons of Anarchy now...hurry up.

And Rome. They even have the box sets.

Shh, havent seen last three episodes of WD yet they refused to download

You didn't miss much, it went nowhere really.

and i do find the female nudity rather gratuitious. strange as the women characters are quite strong and interesting. but saying that I find Ian Glen's character ridiculously sexy for some reason more than any other male character.

squoosh Wed 10-Apr-13 13:10:14

Oh yes, I love Ian Glen too. His voice is so alluring.

Jamie Lannister is hot too aside from the incesty murderous thing. We all have character flaws though I suppose.

The one who leaves my loins cold though is Rob Stark. I find him a bit dull.

YouTheCat Wed 10-Apr-13 13:10:51

If the female characters were just there for a bit of 'fluff' I'd find the nudity a bit wrong but they aren't - it's a fantastic series with great, strong female characters.

My favourite is Arya. I love Tyrian as well.

I wish I had Sky but will just have to wait for the box set.

squoosh Wed 10-Apr-13 13:11:45

Tyrion gets the best lines, love him and Bronn together.

Sorrel, am about to watch ep2 tonight - please reassure me that there's at least some doggy-style shagging?! wink

Me and Dh sing Unchained Melody every time Jerome comes on screen. It's like an affliction. We also like shouting out the names of UK tv shows that various actors have been in: Casualty! Hollyoaks! Skins! And so on.

Yeah, we know how to live it up chez Bags.

Kit Harington (Jon Snow) - I would. In fact, I'm rubbing my legs and muttering "ooooh, young man!" just thinking about him right now.

I have to admit I cried a little in the finale of TWD grin my hormone levels have never gone back to normal since having Dts.
I have become an AA fan since seeing him naked, he is a bit whit whooo. Don't like the character for obvious reasons.

OxfordBags Wed 10-Apr-13 13:14:02

PS There is confirmed nekkid Jon Snow action later in Series 3!

i too think the incest thing is ridiculous- it's practically every ruling family FFs!
There are some horrifying characters in it, but I think that's part of its brilliance.
Thankfully they frequently get their just desserts.

squoosh Wed 10-Apr-13 13:18:19

I saw Joffrey in Dublin a few months ago. I managed not to slap his chops.

StickEmWithThePointyEnd Wed 10-Apr-13 13:18:53

Alfie Allen's is the only naked willy we see.

For some reason I'm attracted to Sandor Clegane/the Hound. Not normally my type. I can see the attraction in Bronn too.

CarpeVinum Wed 10-Apr-13 13:19:40

in order to have him in character.

Oh I want him character. But after a long hot shower with (unscented) soap.

And that cape getting Frontlined grin

MordecaiAndRigby Wed 10-Apr-13 13:20:09

I don't even blink at the nudity now. I did cringe when they were torturing poor Lily Allen's little brother in s3ep2. <shudders>

MordecaiAndRigby Wed 10-Apr-13 13:20:39

Her poor little brother I should say, not poor her. I doubt she felt it really...

neriberi Wed 10-Apr-13 13:21:44

The books are pretty rude shock TBH I didn't notice the boobs in the books because the story and the characters are so good, especially Tyrion and Arya.

But I do wish some of the ladies they've used for the TV series were as good as they are in the books, Melisandre is a bit of a let down for me and I wish Cersei was more beautiful even though the actress who play's her is amazing

MordecaiAndRigby Wed 10-Apr-13 13:22:01

And I'd sooo have my own little naked party with Bronn and Tyrion grin

YouTheCat Wed 10-Apr-13 13:22:51

Joffrey was in one of the Batman films - there's a meme out there or something. grin

WorriedMummy73 Wed 10-Apr-13 13:22:55

I have read all the books (waaaaay before the TV show - love fantasy as a rule) and have a real love/hate relationship with the tv show.

LOVE how well some of the casting has been carried out. Me and DM always talked about who they would get to play Tyrion and Peter Dinkledge could not be better - the man is perfection and I luffs him. Jaime is spot on, Brienne too. The kids are all very good, esp. Joffrey - what a little monster. Whoever booked Maergery Tyrell needs shooting though - Ann effing Boleyn from The Tudors (which me and DM refused to watch due to it being a shagfest). Maybe I've read the books all wrong, but Maergery doesn't come across as that conniving and, well, slutty, to me. Offering a three-way with her own brother??? WTAF?

HATE how George R R Martin has essentially sold-out to HBO and gone 'tits? Yeah, put loads in! Willies? Yeah, loads of those too! Sexual relationships between characters who didn't have them in the books? Why the hell not! You're paying me enough!'. But that's HBO for you.

This I will say though, to those of you watching the show who haven't read the books (and you should, you really, really should): don't get attached to ANYONE! Sean Bean proved that to be true to series 1. And it doesn't get any better. George R R Martin kills off main characters left, right and center. There are some major shocks ahead.

And Jaime? You may hate him now, but I think he has the biggest personal journey of any character in the show! wink

Ineedmorepatience Wed 10-Apr-13 13:23:25

I am reading Storm of Swords atm, between that and MN I am struggling to fit anything else in grin

I love lots of the characters, some of them like Joffrey for their sheer vileness. Tyrion is really clever and Arya is so brave, I really hope she makes it!

I might have to go and read another chapter nowgrin

bettycocker Wed 10-Apr-13 13:24:03

Naked Jon Snow? I'll be chucking my panties granny knickers at the TV!

Fargo86 Wed 10-Apr-13 13:25:33

There is just as much sexual content in the books as in the series. How as George Martin 'sold out'?
