Daily Mail,
The Telegraph,
This Morning

And this afternoon Jeremy Vine.

All saying how awfully judgy MN is. grin Judgy people will be drawn in out of curiosity.

MadameDefarge Mon 08-Apr-13 12:14:27

oh god. think I will hide for a while.

Sparklingbrook Mon 08-Apr-13 12:17:42

Sorry Jeremy Vine is on now, it's Jane Garvey standing in. they aren't discussing it yet.

I joined on the back of the Gina Ford furore in 2007 - lots of stuff in the papers about how vile mumsnetters were and I thought it sounded great. I have never left <hotel California>

Sparklingbrook Mon 08-Apr-13 12:20:26

grin Helen. The 'Amanda Holden Furore' doesn't sound as great.

LadyBeagleEyes Mon 08-Apr-13 12:24:12

Well they got me via Matthew Wright a couple of years ago, already to be judgy towards all those nasty wiminz I'd heard about and instead found the majority of you were all lovely.
Of course there's some that fit under the media stereotype, but IMO, it's the most tolerant forum I've ever found.
Let's hope others will discover this too when they come for a nose.
<waves to lurkers and potential newbies>

They got me via Lz Jones, I'm ashamed to say.

Off to put radio on.

Is there some kind of schedule that us doing the rounds in Journalist Sleb land? Every few months some journalist/not A List sleb comes on MN, doesn't like it and then spouts off in the papers to increase their profile. I swear, their agents have an annual planner. "Right, now Amanda you have April 2013, Liz, you've already filled your quota for the next few rounds, so you'll have to wait to slag off MN until around late 2015"

And it's NEVER anyone like say, Johnny Depp coming on here for advice. And looking for a new lady friend wink (FYI Johnny, in case you're around, I am married but i'm sure DH and I could negotiate a deal).

Lighthousekeeping Mon 08-Apr-13 12:35:51

Oh, it's on.

I miss Jeremy.

AgathaF Mon 08-Apr-13 12:45:17

I think the woman speaking now (Christina?) speaks with a great deal of ignorance.

OhBuggerandArse Mon 08-Apr-13 12:48:51

Christina Odone. What on earth was she on? HEr version of Mumsnet was totally unrecognisable.

trice Mon 08-Apr-13 13:10:16

I am very angry about Christina Odone.

Oh. Actually I'm not. I just don't like being called a bully. I'm actually quite nice.

Lighthousekeeping Mon 08-Apr-13 13:44:44

I think it was very tame. Hardly worth it.

reggiebean Mon 08-Apr-13 13:48:36

I'm new! I came because I wanted to see all the bitchy comments and see how bad it really was, and it turns out everyone's almost everyone is friendly and helpful!

It's a shame really... As if I need yet another site that takes up all my time! ;-)

FeckOffCup Mon 08-Apr-13 14:05:13

I came here indirectly because of MN being in the news when Gordon Brown wouldn't say what his favourite biscuit was. The site name stuck in my mind so I came here when DD was born to ask for breastfeeding advice and never left. I wish I had known that it was ok to come here if you were TTC or pregnant, I used to go on the forums on the cow and gate website for pregnancy advice but they were bloody useless.

MadameDefarge Mon 08-Apr-13 14:06:00

<<preens self slightly at GB biscuit memory>>

MrsMook Mon 08-Apr-13 14:08:29

I ventured in when bored out my wits at another bloke film on the TV the other night. Got to have something to do at 39 weeks pg! The Gender Reveal thread came dangerously close to making me snigger the baby out. Might have to re-read that in a few days if I'm still in the waiting room of life...

reggiebean Mon 08-Apr-13 14:11:01

FeckOffCup I'm not TTC or pregnant, and don't have any kids, but the FAQ's said it was okay for me to be here. grin

Just find the community to be quite helpful, and can skip over the poo/nappy/etc., chat if it doesn't apply smile

FeckOffCup Mon 08-Apr-13 14:20:51

Oh I didn't mean it wasn't ok to come here if not TTC or pregnant just that it would have benefitted me to know that but I thought I wouldn't be welcome here unless I was already a mum.

reggiebean Mon 08-Apr-13 14:23:55

Only meant to say I felt the same, and had to check the FAQ's to see if I was allowed because I wasn't sure smile

HoneyDragon Mon 08-Apr-13 14:26:39

Oh. Now all the other threads make sense.

cricketballs Mon 08-Apr-13 14:46:03

there are some posters though that are bullies and nasty as well. I see threads where I would like to ask a question/state my opinion that I dare not to after having seeing others attacked stating for their views and not for sharing the collective opinion.

Lora1982 Mon 08-Apr-13 15:26:36

So what was this story on sunday then? (have no radio/newspapers)
