Yesterday I said to dh and the kids(13 and 10) lets all put a pound in and choose a horse randomly just on the name of it and the horse that comes in closest to the post that person wins £4. Dh pulled a face but agreed. I wanted to watch the race and cheer the horses but we went out. When we got back we found out ds had won.
Dh came into the room looking peed off then after I'd asked him several times went into a massive rant about how I was setting the kids on the road to gambling and it was not on ect ect.
I never gamble and it's not like I went down the bookies and spent our savings.
So was I BU here?

I don't think you were being U.

My mum used to put 50p each way on for me on a horse in the national every year.

The only thing I ever gamble on is.....the grand national

And even then I don't put more than a quid each way on.

My DD won too smile she has been spending her winnings.

We only do the grand national and its just a bit of fun and that's what we tell our DC.

The National is always known as the "Housewives Choice" - in that it is traditionally the only time women have a flutter.

We always bet on it. It is the only thing we do bet on as a family.

DH and DS2 have little flutters on other stuff.
