Need a lie in - thinking of staying in a spa ALONE

Never get a lie in (none of us do)! Five and a half years on I'm exhausted.
I'm 41 on the 19th. I can't get my parents to have them over night - they're busy.
Can't get a babysitter.
Seriously thinking of booming myself into a spa but need a nice, local and bargainish one! Lol
Don't even want hubby to come with as it'd hen be my third child's demands (his) I'd need to guiltily refuse! More commendations please! I'm near St Albans.

i did this a couple of years ago. saved up some money booked a deal at a hotel with a spa treatment and dinner included. double room to myself, bath, dinner to the room, a massage, use of their pool and a lie in with breakfast!! heaven.

No lie ins as on our lie in day they (adorable 5 and 2 y olds) are desperate to come in for a cuddle and I can't sleep if I hear them!

I stayed at the Greenway hotel & spa near Cheltenham recently and it was lovely. May be a bit far for you though.

Mind you I'm sat on a hotel bed as I type. Dd1 and I saw 1 d last night. I've been looking forward to a lie in and break from not good sleeping dd2 but I was stil awake at 7.30 and dh text me at 9 to tell me he was taking her swimming so good job really.

Got chatting to booking lady and she told me that she's a single parent and still gets woken up by her 14 y old son... co she sleeps in get bed!
I'm all for co sleeping but I'm feeling better now. I've only had 5-6 yes of sleep deprivation. Lolling

I went away last year to do a course. Only stayed in a B&B but the best bit of it was being able to lie-in every morning. The B&B lady was somewhat surprised I never came down to breakfast but I got up as late as I could and still be at the course on time. It was bliss!

How about a cheap but nice B&B near something that you'd like to do on your own, be it shopping, museum, gallery, hairdressers...

Sopwell House was lovely. They normally have offers on mid-week when it is quieter so may be worth a look.

Henlow Grange is very nice. Went there for a day spa courtesy of dh as. birthday gift. T'was lovely. Font know if they do overnight stays, but they have rooms, so assume they do.

The Grove? That's close by, not cheap though.

Champneys Tring will be closer than Henlow for you - very relaxing.

I did this a couple of years ago and it was bliss.

I stayed at a posh 5* hotel in York near the train station. It had its own pool and spa in the basement. Spent a lot of time lazing in bed, bit of time pottering round York and then some swimming in the pool.

I'm thinking of going to Center Parcs on my own for a break next year.

i live on the outskirts of Brum and booked a travelodge room in the centre mid week. ..nice mea, film, lay in, went to the art gallery, ate a nice lunch...felt like i'd had a week's holiday...cheap too

It is not close to you but I cannot recommend Careys Manor enough. Stayed there recently on a spa break and it was bliss from start to finish. A serious treat and rest. Saved up for quite a while for it.
