If you going to write about the cunt, then use the right spelling. (Yes IABU as this should have gone in Pedants' Corner).

A simple way to remember the correct spelling is that you wish that he had never been BORN.

Not BOURNE as in sexy men with amnesia. grin

Doh! If you ARE... blush

Just call him Gideon. It's more distinctive, and he doesn't like it grin

[snigger]

Shall I start a new thread entitled 'If You're going to be a PITA about spelling, make sure your own posts are beyond criticism....'

Actually, there is a weak, vain and foolish character in Vanity Fair called George Osborne. Thackeray is bang up to date and no mistake.

Yes Fleecy I have been whipping myself since I pressed the Post button!

I just think "now what was the name of the person I booed at the Olympics? Ah, yes, now I remember......"

I am a bit thick though. Why Gideon? Naturally if its his preferred name, it should be used.

GetOeuf Thu 04-Apr-13 21:56:56

That is a good way of remembering how to spell it OP grin

GetOeuf Thu 04-Apr-13 21:57:56

Sounds too Jewish apparently Tilder. He couldn't have people thinking that, hence the use of George.

The galumphing great twat.

showtunesgirl Thu 04-Apr-13 21:58:28

Gideon was his original given name.

ReturnOfEmeraldGreen Thu 04-Apr-13 21:59:12

Gideon is his real first name. Of course it is more polite to use his preferred (middle) name. Unfortunately I find that politesse becomes strained when Osborne hoves into view...

Ahh, Gideon it is then. Tit that he is.

I would say the impression created by his name is the least of his worries.
