2 years ago I had some work done in my garden. The person that did the work was really nice and we got on and chatted away to each other.

Received a message from him today just asking how the garden is getting on. Thought it was odd but as we got on really well and thought maybe he was no longer with his girlfriend and that was why he was contacting me.

Just been onto the site that I know he posts on and he is definately still with his girlfriend so obviously wouldn't go there.

But feel really disapointed as been feeling quite ecxited today thinking he has text me because he was interested.

I'm an idiot aren't I?

He was probably hoping you'd say you needed him to do some more garden work for you.

You're not an idiot.

No, not at all. There is nothing wrong with getting excited! I've done it

Is 'work on your garden' some sort of euphemism? :o

If not you were probably being a little naive is all. There is a recession going on, I suspect he is hunting for business.

It's not silly to be disappointed. Don't beat yourself up about it.

I imagine it's good for business to check on past clients.
Keep in touch anyway you never know.

Think most of us have done it TBH. Yes you feel an arse, but you're not, you were given a glimmer of fun during the crap weather and most importantly you only kept it to you, so no one knows, do they.............?

They could be broken up and the status just hasn't been changed yet. Get round to do some more work and see from there

You are all very kind. Don't feel such a berk now. Yep definately kept it to myself (apart from you lot) so will just forget about it.

Although only got a small garden so not sure what work he would be able to do on it (and no - not an euphemism!) Grin
