AIBU?

In thinking that the build up to Comic Relief is longer than even the build up to Christmas nowadays?

Yes I know it's a good cause, and us Moomins always put our hands in our pockets, but I was fed up of it weeks ago. And I'm not even going to mention the constant stream of Z list celebrities seeking to resurrect their careers.

YANBU. Have always enjoyed the evening show & have donated but sick of it already this year.

It does seem to be going on forever. I get the impression that it's got a bit more 'heavy handed' this year possibly due to the economic belt tightening.

For some reason this year it is really getting on my nerves. I think the work Comic Relief does is amazing but am so fed up of the constant barrage. It's been constant on Twitter and when someone dared complain Emma Kennedy said "Go to Africa and tell a mother whose child has just died of malaria that". Fuck off with your emotional blackmail crap.

Let's Dance for Comic Relief was utter TV dross.

Frankie Boyle shows the level it's sunk to. More hand relief than comic relief.

I dont think Ive ever seen it like this before. I have my suspicions its because every year they have to raise more than they did the year before or it would look bad, but they were worried in case the cuts meant we didnt do it. So by dragging it out for forever there's a chance we might hit the target. Also its probably pretty cheap TV

YANBU. It does seem to have had a very long build up this year. We brought DS a tshirt the giraffe one and 2 red noses, i actually thought it was the friday just gone nearly sent DS to nursery dressed for it!! I suppose longer build up gives more chance to raise more money

YANBU

It seems weeks ago when they kayaked down the Zambezi

And as much as I like Lets dance I barely knew anyone on there. And the 1 Direction clips were dire. I know its to raise awareness but I swear that their publicist had just dumped them there and as emotional as they were I was like what are the chances you are just going to go back to the U.K and act money like twats again. At least every single teen girl is going to ring and donate lots and lots of money purely because Harry Styles was crying buckets. And Alex Jones just gets on my tits.

Sorry rant over

The whole thing is a total and absolute bore. And I will be avoiding it as much as possible. Any excuse for those celebs so in love with themselves. I'll choose my own charities thank you and won't be persuaded by those millionaires to part with my money.

It was good 20 years ago. But even the Vicar of Dibley has been cancelled. All good things have to come to an end. What could replace it, though? "Squirt a seleb?" viewers ring in to see a z list seleb squired with rat's piss. Oh yes, that's I'm a Celebrity....

I find the whole thing embarrasingly awful. Obviously the millions they raise is good so I feel bad slagging it off, but it is just so cringeworthy!

I will give some money, but I'm sure as heck not going to watch after the cringe fest which was the dance bollocks the other night.
