To expect people to speak up?

Especially if they run a meeting or training course. I think it is rude if someone speaks at a level that cannot be heard across the room, and continue to speak quietly even after having been asked to speak up. I cannot think of many reasons why people genuinely can't speak up - very sore throat, no vocal cords?

??? I'm not scary, I'm usually too meek to ask people to speak up. But AIBU to expect public speakers to talk louder than a whisper?

Well of corse you're not bu if you are sure that it's the speakers fault and not that they should have been provided with a mic or your hearing isn't as good as you think.

I get the hump when my dh speaks to me on his 'hands free' thing with the window open as its so annoying.

Yanbu. I don't like it, either, when they take a question from the floor that the rest of the audience can't hear and don't repeat the question, just reply to it. Lots of people do that.
