Lovely presents from dh today, but aibu and a bit of a cow to be disappointed that the receipt shows that he just ran in n grabbed my pressies at 6pm on the wy home from work?

It's not as though he didn't know it was VD, it's advertised everywhere for months.

Sad

its a marketing ploy, not a ritual expression of undying love. he did what he had to do. most people wouldn't have bothered.

YABU and ungrateful and ridiculous. Does it really matter when he bought it?

Does it matter what time he got them? At least he remembered and got you something.

That is certainly a very weird thing to be "really saddened" by. Yabu.

And a bit of a cow.

Is it really a man thing? I always leave buying presents until the very last minute.

What difference does it actually make?

What difference would it make to you if he bought them last week?

When would have been an acceptable time for him to buy you presents?

Report
Beamur · 14/02/2013 21:44

YABU. He made the effort and bought you nice presents on time - what's the problem?
DP bought mine today too, he was going into Leeds for work and went especially to a shop that is only there to get me something.

YABU. It's all a load of rubbish anyway. He got you something, probably because you seem quite hung up on it. You wanted a present, you got one.

I know exactly what you mean though. Sometimes we have to accept though that most men are not going to be plotting months in advance what small but perfect gift would speak to us on a special day. There are probably quite a lot of local shops that would go out of business if it wasn't for lastminuteitis. Wink
