I quite often sit and eat a full packet of Jarlsberg slices in one sitting. So yummy I don't even realise I'm doing it!

Catmint · 04/02/2013 21:28

YANBU. I ate an entire Boursin one night last week. entirely normal.

Juanca · 04/02/2013 21:32

YABU if you haven't baked it and used an entire baguette as a spoon.

MortifiedAdams · 04/02/2013 21:35

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...................... delicious.

Juanca I do that with Camembert, but haven't tried it with Brie yet Grin

Yanbu, I ate so much dinner I am so weighed down I don't think I can do the washing up (or gravity might land me in the kitchen any second now)

Rilson · 04/02/2013 21:39

YANBU

Brie rocks my world.......on toast......with chilli chutney glazes over

weegiemum · 04/02/2013 21:40

Yanbu! I had a whole Port Salut wedge on baguette for lunch!

WorraLiberty · 04/02/2013 21:41

Do you know I have never tasted Brie?

I know I must be missing out because everyone I know seems to love it? Confused
WorriedMummy73 · 04/02/2013 21:42

Gotta be honest (and preparing to be flamed big time) but I'm not down with Brie (sorry, I'm so sorry, please spare my kids!). It's......weird in a way I can't describe. Give me a hard Dutch cheese anyday. And that's not a euphemism!

NotMostPeople · 04/02/2013 21:45

I've been known to do it although the dog has scuppered my plans once or twice when I've been stupid enough to leave the Brie unattended while nipping to the loo. If you eat low carb stuffing a whole wedge of Brie won't do too much harm to your waistline either.

I know it's not on the same level because it's a spread (and very processed) but has anyone else tried 'Seriously Strong Smoky'? Holy cow! It's like porn in a cheese spread stylee!

WorraLiberty · 04/02/2013 21:52

WorriedMummy73 Are you sure it's not? Grin

WorraLiberty · 04/02/2013 21:53

I meant are you sure it's not a euphemism? Grin

WorriedMummy73 · 04/02/2013 21:55

Worra - it does sound disgusting, doesn't it? The Dutch hard cheese, not the Seriously Strong Smoky! Although now THAT sounds like a euphemism...

PandaOnAPushBike · 04/02/2013 22:33

Pregnant Panda says you are being entirely unreasonable. Wails

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/02/2013 22:37

Awww Panda I couldn't have Danish Blue when I was incubating the DC Sad
I love cubes of Danish Blue with a rocket, walnut and apple salad.

WRT to brie-
Sainsburys Somerset Brie Grin.

I bought myself a small dish from Lakeland (with a lid) to bake Brie/Camenbert for Christmas. Lush with breadsticks.

Boomerwang · 04/02/2013 22:40

Has to be French Brie. The English stuff seems a bit flavourless and too... doughy? in the white part.

I love it with green grapes. I couldn't eat a whole wedge though, it's too rich. I'd feel sick :s

MortifiedAdams · 04/02/2013 22:49

I left about a fifth. Tried my bestest but its getting late and I need to sleep.

At least I have a.sliver for.tomorrow.

I bloody love Brie. Love it. Love it. Love it. So much so that I will only buy one wedge a year (at Christmas, of course), and make it last a full 2 days. Of course I eat the rind, too.

Oh, I want one now. I might make it my new vice instead of chocolate.

Skinnywhippet · 04/02/2013 23:29

Omg Brie. Shit, can you not eat it pregnant? TTC soon. That would be a nightmare.

ruledbyheart · 05/02/2013 01:24

Yabu but only because Im pregnant and not allowed it Envy

Mmm I need crackers to eat my Brie with but in doing frugal February and I'm not supposed to be buying. I'll have to wait until next week. The Brie in the fridge (whole wheel from Costco Grin) will taste even better by then anyway!

SirIronBottom · 05/02/2013 02:11

YUM. YANBU

Boomerwang · 05/02/2013 07:29

Yes you can eat it when pregnant, as long as it's pasteurised.

Or is there another reason you're not supposed to have it?
