thanks - i think i have woke up in a parrelle universe sad

seeker Sat 26-Jan-13 07:28:10

I don' think anyone can explain unless they have all the facts of the case. Which we don't.

TheUnsinkableTitanic Sat 26-Jan-13 09:49:09

but what can the facts be seeker?

he was found guilty and feels suicidal that people will find out?

just doesn't make sense

perhaps someone will come along with some other information that might make the story make sense iyswim

Letmeintroducemyself Sat 26-Jan-13 09:52:43

who cares if he kills himself - it would be one less piece of scum contaminating the earth

I read it as he has been granted anonymity to prevent suicide - wonder how his victims feel

myfirstkitchen Sat 26-Jan-13 09:55:06

He should of killed himself before he commited those crimes.

BoundandRebound Sat 26-Jan-13 09:55:48

We don't have public flogging any more, despite the media,

Those in his community will know, you can't keep that a secret.

When he gets out he will no doubt be on the sex offenders register

He is at present at risk of suicide. We don't have public executions either and have a duty to preserve life.

I don't actually get what you don't get, although appreciate you are reacting to the emotive aspect of the crime involved

seeker Sat 26-Jan-13 09:56:17

He wasn't actually found guilty of abusing a child, "just" of downloading images.

I suppose there are two possibilities. That the judge has made a reasonable decision based on knowledge he has that we don't.

Or. The Judge is irredeemably corrupt and has been bought off.

Letmeintroducemyself Sat 26-Jan-13 09:59:40

downloading images means there was a victim

mamy victims of child abuse feel suicidal - they don't get a voice

littlewhitebag Sat 26-Jan-13 09:59:50

This is about 'right to life' and the fact he has been assessed as at high risk of committing suicide if his name is leaked.

HollyBerryBush Sat 26-Jan-13 10:00:53

Vigilantism would always be a concern I suppose.

Letmeintroducemyself Sat 26-Jan-13 10:00:57

and there is more to it than download if his crimes included blackmail

Letmeintroducemyself Sat 26-Jan-13 10:01:31

holly isn't that always a concern

glenthebattleostrich Sat 26-Jan-13 10:05:09

Oh ok Seeker, he hasn't actually touched a child, just downloaded photo's of others abusing children. He is still a sick bastard.

whiteflame Sat 26-Jan-13 10:07:20

I'm with Seeker on this one.

We don't know what the facts could be, TheUnsinkableTitanic. That's the point really isn't it.

seeker Sat 26-Jan-13 10:07:28

Absolutely he is. Pleas note my use of inverted commas. But we don't have the facts.

Pagwatch Sat 26-Jan-13 10:08:40

Seeker put just like this - 'just' - to show she doesn't regard it as a lesser issue so the sarcasm directed at her is a bit stupid tbh

Pagwatch Sat 26-Jan-13 10:09:18

And lol that seeker needs me to stick up for her grin

seeker Sat 26-Jan-13 10:10:01

Ah. This is a "who cares if he kills himself thread"

Thought for a moment it might be interesting.

seeker Sat 26-Jan-13 10:11:14

Thank you, Pagwatch- always pleased to be stuck up for!

Tee2072 Sat 26-Jan-13 10:45:30

I agree with seeker. We don't have all the facts. And never will.

TheUnsinkableTitanic Sat 26-Jan-13 13:22:54

i'm sorry, still not understanding what the other facts could be

he was found guilty of a crime

i don't for one moment want him to kill himself - he is being punished by the courts
